Product Description

For temporarily-relocated-from-Dallas hotshot defense attorney Lisa Mendoza, a year working for the public defender's office in tiny Angel Eye, Texas, was just a slight detour off the path she'd mapped out for her life. Then she ran smack-dab into handsome Quinn Sutton--and the map started looking more and more muddy. For despite her misgivings about getting involved with the town sheriff, she found him infuriatingly irresistible....

And what of said Sheriff Quinn? He, too, felt the pull of attraction--and the strings of hesitation. Because once before, he'd known the pain of falling fast for a woman who had made it clear she'd follow her head and not her heart. Only this time, with Lisa, he wondered if his heart might follow, as well....

From back of book: "For temporarily-relocated-from-Dallas hotshot defense attorney, Lisa Mendoza, a year working for the public defender's office in tiny Angel Eye, Texas, was just a slight detour off the path she'd mapped out for her life. This is the second in a series of books about the Sutton brothers. The first book, "Hard-Headed Texas", told the story of oldest brother, Daniel, and local vet, Antonia. This book is about brother, Quinn, the town sheriff and Lisa, the attorney, but it does include the wedding of Daniel and Antonia which was a nice addition. The first half of the book concentrated on the romance of the two main characters, but after that the reason that first got them together invaded the story. This involved the criminal case of a local boy named Benny. Hope there will evenutally be another book in the series with plenty of other Suttons to choose from. Cater Sutton, the writer, seemed to be the most likely one when he mentioned in this book that he might be interested in writing about the mystery of the murder of the last sheriff in Angel Eye. Sounds like a good idea to me.
