Pull out your juicers and dust them off because once you have read this book you will be filled with a ton of creative recipies that will boost your immune system and make you feel 100% alive.

The author has spent a lot of time researching this book and have outlined 99 different natural products that you can use in your juicing machine, with many of them new to this reader. But if you were worried that this book was just going to be one long list of things you can put in your juicer then you will be surprised to learn that not only does this book outline why each of the 99 products are healthy for you, but there are 25 recipes included to give your taste buds a real jolt in the morning.

My favorite recipe has to be the Morning Launchpad. It has enough energy boosting vitamins in it to really set you up for the day and yet it is sweet enough for my tastebuds first thing in the morning. Other favorites include the Loco Coconut (I have never thought of using coconut in my juicer before) which includes nectarine, peaches and mango and the Spirilina Smoothie that sounds positively yum. Finally Popeye's Secret Weapon, yes it does contain spinach, but it is blended with bananas, peanut butter, and yogurt - who would have thought of that?

This book is highly recommended to anyone who has a juicing machine in the back of their kitchen cupboards. Pull it out, give some of these recipes a try and your health will thank you for it.

The concept of this book is wonderful and some of the smoothie recipes look downright delicious but...the book is user unfriendly. Why is there not an index or a listing of the superfoods and recipes so you don't have to either page through each one or guess as to what location your item of interest can be located at? Really, if you have 99 superfoods and you don't know what they are until you read the book, should you have to write down their locations or bookmark every damn one to easily find them again? I think not! In addition, the tiny blurbs about each superfood contain the absolute minimum information as to what makes them "superfoods", and it has no references as to which "studies show" that this food does this or that.

More than I expected. I was pretty sure this book would have some great green smoothie recipes, but I was unexpectedly surprised to find such great concise information about superfoods, most of which had great photos to illustrate what some of those unusual, exotic foods look like. I made out a shopping list while I was reading.

I have drunk fruit smoothies for years and my grandmother used to drink green smoothies that she made me drink as well - she lived well into her 90's. But I can tell that these green smoothies will be much more delicious than the ones my grandmother made. So thank you, Kristin Schiffer. Now I just have to decide which one to try first.

I love this little book. I am happy to say that I use quite a few of the 99 foods myself, frequently if not daily, but there are a couple I'd never heard of, even though I try to stay well informed on healthy foods. Not only are the foods identified, usually with accompanying photo, but their health-giving benefits are detailed, which makes this quite a useful (and well-written) reference.

And then there are the recipes! I've been drinking a smoothie every day of my life for breakfast, for more than a year now. Smoothies are incredibly life-enhancing meals (or snacks) because the foods are consumed raw so have more nutrients including their own healthy enzymes, and the foods have been mechanically "partially digested" so to speak (or perhaps pre-digested) by being blenderized, which cuts down on the work your digestive system has to do and also is a boon to the liver. So smoothies are really good for you -- add Superfoods and you've really got something!

Usually I have the same smoothie day after day (always with a handful of spinach, chard or kale), but sometimes I want something different, and I've collected a few recipes here and there, but I think this is one of the best collections of smoothie recipes I've seen. And I applaud that they all include some greens (spinach or other) which sounds ghastly to the uninitiated, I know, but the taste of these fresh raw greens is totally hidden by the fruits and other ingredients, so for those who might be skeptical (or downright afraid) about adding raw greens, rest assured that these smoothies are "safe" to eat.

This is a book I know I'll refer to again and again.

Kristin Schiffer's book shows us how to get healthy and live long with her information about superfoods and green smoothies. I've been a juicer for a long time so I know how good juicing is for your health, but I appreciated the new smoothie recipes (I didn't have quite a few of them) and I was surprised by some of the superfoods.

This book is well written and to the point, with lots of beautiful pictures.
