5.0 out of 5 stars Can't go wrong with Smoothies! April 29, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Summer is just around the corner and I was looking for some chilled recipes to keep this healthy trend that I have going. SMOOTHIES FOR GOOD HEALTH was just the book I'm looking for. An amazing catalog of recipes with a variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from. I tried the Tropical Fruit Sunrise, definitely a die for! The Dessert Smoothies section is also a "must check out". The author inlcudes really good nutritional information and concrete instructions to making smoothies. I highly recommend you check out the book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing... October 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Hershey's Syrup?
Cream cheese?

Disappointing book. This isn't nutrition.
30-40 carbs is not a good meal replacement.

I'm deleting this from my Reader, this is like equating McDonald's to a backyard burger...very misleading and not very suitable recipes.

4.0 out of 5 stars More than Just a Recipe Book May 5, 2013
By Carolyn
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was really pleased with all of the information about the benefits of fruits and veggies, and the portion sizes of the various foods. There were also some great blender tips, too. The variety of the types of smoothies was not only very helpful, but it also gave me some great ideas for some other smoothies that I could create. There was a final chapter on making smoothies into dessert "pops" that will be great to try out, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious, Healthy Smoothie Recipes April 25, 2013
By Dawn
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I picked this book up because I have heard so much about healthy smoothies and how good they are for you that I wanted to try them out for myself. This book offers simple recipes that are healthy and delicious. The book is well organized - and is much more than just a smoothie recipe book. The author breaks down the benefits of fruits and veggies, the how and the why behind smoothies becoming so popular - such as the fact that scientist now recognize that smoothies account for 2 out of the daily target of 5 fruits and veggies. She even gives a helpful little glossary on understanding the terminology of nutrition experts.

The recipes look and sound delicious and even they are well organized - from Morning Meals smoothies such as Berry Banana Breakfast Smoothie to Dessert Smoothies such as Banana and Chocolate Chip Pops. I can't wait to try these out on my family - my kids will not even know they are eating healthy!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love Smoothies April 25, 2013
By 2acres
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Stacy Michaels does a great job at breaking down the basics of smoothies. She offers great illustrations and graphics to help drive the point home that eating healthy is important. Even though we all know that it is best to eat fruits and vegetables, Stacy illustrates the real reasons and just how we can benefit. She even offers step-by-step instructions about how to prepare the fruits and vegetables and make the most of your blender to have success when making smoothies. Her recipes are very clearly written and the illustrations make it even more enticing to want to make every smoothie recipe included in this great smoothie recipe book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome and healthy choices made easy July 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This an amazing book. So many delicious and appetizing recipes for all different kinds of smoothies for all different times of the day. Truly great thing about this book as that the recipes are all made in a blender and therefore you don't lose out on the fiber that is so important if you were to just be juicing the fruits and vegetables. Have not tried any of the recipes yet, but rest assured I will be making a boat load over time. Another plus for Stacy's book are the te tips she explains regarding cutting up and freezing the fruits beforehand.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not nutritious at all July 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I purchased your book and was reading the section regarding soy. It sounds like you drank the koolaid and believe the doctors. Soy is horrible for you! 1. Men should NEVER eat or drink soy, Ever! It interferes with their testosterone production and guess what men get when there is to much estrogen in their system? Manboobs and large bellies. 2. All of the soy produced in the USA is GMO and every product that is packaged in the grocery store is filled with soy bean oil, soy lecithin, etc. You can't get organic soybeans in the US. We have breast cancer coming out of our ears because of the estrogenic affect that soy has on the body. Please do NOT Use soy!

5.0 out of 5 stars the book is as good as the smoothies May 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I decided it was time to eat a little healthier, and looked for a recipe book that wouldn't have me on a "diet." The recipes here are easy, delicious, and the description in the front of the book about the benefits made me a believer.

I now enjoy my fruits and vegetables, instead of eating yet another boring apple. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to make their fruits and vegetables more appealing, and fun to eat. It makes healthy eating seem decadent!
