So what if it isn't real leather! That doesn't diminish its value at all! This is a mysterious, exotic and elegant looking journal book; one that will preserve your eloquent or personal writings like a royal treasure. The lovely gold embellishments have a slightly embossed texture. The book is nicely sized at 9 inches high by 7 inches wide (approx. 23 by 18 centimeters) with 144 vanilla cream pages. The paper is of thick acid-free archive quality, and printed with narrow margins and twenty-six delicate lines per page. It exhibits a bright red ribbon bookmark and a large expandable pocket at the back for stashing loose paper or extra bits & pieces. Also to be found inside at the center of the front cover page is a generously designated space for the owner to fill out who "This Book Belongs To" if they so wish. Plus the wrap around flap closes with a steadfast clap due to the subsurface magnetism embedded in the overlapping covers. You can even stow a pen or pencil neatly under the flap, between the paper edges and the cover at the right-hand side without much worry of it falling out. Beautiful as a planner or journal. Made in China.

This blank book really does have the appearance of an old leather book. The pages inside are acid-free, lined, and ivory with a thin red ribbon page marker. Also nice is the magnetic flap closure and a sewn-in pocket at the back of the book for notes, cards, letters, etc. Beautiful!

Very nice journal - a little larger than I like, but nice paper and feel - it could do without the satin bookmark. The closing flap is a great - I can add pictures and clippings without them falling out.

I love this journal. It's a great treasure to have. I thought it was literally fake leather but it's not, it's a hardcover. But the design and detail is so beautiful. And i love the fact that it can close and has a book mark. The pages are great to write on because they're thicker. It's a nice journal to show off. I would carry it everywhere because it's that nice!

I was disappointed to find that the paper in this book doesn't take fountain pen ink. Unless you're planning to write with a regular ballpoint, I'd recommend a moleskine journal instead.

I am a hardcore journal writer, been doing it since the age of 8, I have written in over 30 journals, with all the journals this one was the best, and i plan on buying another one very soon, I reccomend this one to all journal writers.

I just love this journal...the look, the feel, everything. I really like the quality of the writing paper; it's thick, yet not too thick, and it just feels almost like a linen paper. I really like that it's lined; I hate journals that are blank...they just seem like doodle-pads to me. Anyone who enjoys writing, and writing on nice paper that will last, would love it. Just looking at the journal gives me a royal, regal feeling (it must be the deep richness of the red accented by the gold foil), and whatever I write in it just seems that much more special to me!!!

I bought this journal for my goddaughter as a Christmas gift. She's 12, already loves to journal, and aspires to become a writer... which I fully support! I've encouraged her to use it as a writer's idea journal, a place where she can capture her story ideas, make notes and so forth. She was delighted with the gift!

I love the look and feel of this journal. As an author, I write my books in longhand first, and this particular journal has such a special feel about it. It is well made and makes for great and sturdy writing. Plus, it's great to have if you have several volumes of writing, as it gives a special look and feel on the book case. This one is really my favorite.

This journal is amazing. For me, it gave enough space, a beautiful background, and the poacket is also wonderful for entries/poems made elsewhere. I liked it so much that when I finished and tried a different one,it was like I had writers block! I ended up buying another one. I'll get one every so often because these will be my life journals. For people who write 3/4 pages a day, or who write large,there may not be enough pages. But I would recommed it and have even purchaed it for others!!!
