This journal is a big disappointment. The design on the paper cover imitates a design that would've been used on leather...but dont assume this is actually a leather journal like I did. The design on the journal is "old leather" but it's not actually a leather bound journal. It's a very small journal with wide spaced lines in it that might be great to carry around in a purse for quick notes or something. The journal is soo small that it is for short time use. There are much better journals out there.

It holds the ink really well, and I like the magnetic flap that holds all my thoughts securely inside the hard covers. I have had journals in the past but not as good as this one. If you like to write like I do: poetry, short stories, or you just want to jot down your thoughts; you will enjoy writing them down in this. It has an old antique feel to it with the design covers and the crisp, smooth, ivory white pages are guaranteed to hold any ink that suites you. You will enjoy it as much as I do.

I love it. Very classy looking, wish it cam in a bigger size but realy no complaints. Good size for your purse, to journal when waiting to get in somewhere.

I saw these journals a while back but lately decided to purchase one at least and see. I was very pleased when it arrived, beautiful, hard cover and so precious!!

A great buy for yourself or as a gift!

This is a very attractive, and elegant looking book. It looks even better in real life. This is the perfect size for journaling, not too small or large. With the magnetic flap, you can be sure it will stay shut, and the pouch in the back is a very nice little feature.

I am a creature of habit and have used the same brand and style journal for many years. Recently, when I went to purchase more of the same, they had vanished from the shelves of my favorite stores. I was thrilled to find "Paperblanks" on Amazon. The picture exactly matched what I had been searching for. I quickly ordered 6, not anticipating the long wait of several weeks as the books travelled from England. When the package arrived, I was surprised to see that my journals had shrunk. Though the picture could not reflect this, the books were only 5 by 7 inches in size (about the size of my hand), whereas the twelve I had purchased before were the larger, more standard, 7x9 journal size. Though disappointed, I have accommodated to the new size and still appreciate the style and quality of this brand.

Perfect mix of vintage and modern. The sewn binding lays flat for writing evenly across the page, and the foil embossing gives a quality look. The lightly lined ivory pages let your writing stand out on it's own. The magnetic clasp keeps the cover securely closed. I was surprised by the pleated pocket inside the back cover - a wonderful place to stash precious notes, and flat items. The word leather in the description is misleading. The printed design on the scratch resistant paper cover gives a contrast to the recessed gold embossing. I may have to buy a few for gifts, this one is for me and I'm keeping it!

What a great buy. It was well worth the money. The magnetic closure is very nice.

I loved the journal. It has a very classy exterior and it's made with good quality acid-free paper. The inside pocket allows me to keep important papers, although you can only put paper inside. I tried putting something thicker and the journal wouldn't close.

This is absolutely gorgeous! And it was made without killing a cow, which is a bonus for me. It's the sort of journal that inspires you to write about magical things. And that pocket in the back is great for holding mementos from your adventures... even if the only trips you've been taking are through your mind.
