5.0 out of 5 stars Creative & Healthy - Love It! June 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I love finding new & creative recipes that are not only healthy - but taste great. Even better is the fact that the recipes are 100 calories or less - so you could say that "a moment on the lips WON'T stick to your hips". The Kiwi Cucumber Smoothie is amazing and I'm going to make the Blue Blood Apricots and the Spicy Fig treats for our family brunch tomorrow. Highly recommended - YUM!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the Book I Need June 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm following a pretty healthy diet but the big gap for me is between meals. I do like carrot sticks but there are only so many carrots you can eat. I looked around for healthy snacks that would fit in my diet. I think this book is exactly what I need. All of the nutritional information is included for each recipe including Weight Watchers points. You do have to watch the portions though. Tuna Appetizers on Carrot Crackers. Fast & Easy Royal Turkey Snack (crunchy yay!), Cheese and Pimiento Creamy Appetizer and the Blue Blood Apricots all look exceptional. There are several healthy smoothies included too.

3.0 out of 5 stars On the right track, but needs polish. June 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
According to the 'About the Author' at the end of the book Ms. Tudose is a certified Fitness and Nutrition Coach. I think this shows in her approach to her recipes. Unlike another 'healthy snacks' e-cookbook I recently reviewed, these snacks are very healthy. Most of them are quite easy to make with ingredients that are easily obtainable. With a total of 28 recipes, there should be at least a few to please every palate.

Several of her ideas are novel and sound very appealing. The Kiwi and Cucumber Smoothie sounds delicious. The Quick and Healthy Eggs in Tomato Sauce Sounds good, too, although I'd probably need to add some crushed red pepper since I love spicy food! I like her recipe for Light & Refreshing Coleslaw. With the addition of some shredded chicken to ramp up the protein it would make a lovely main course. The Baked Jalapenos with Double Cheese Filling sound amazing. Did I mention I like spicy food?

The formatting is reasonably consistent. There is a hyper-linked table of contents, and each recipe begins on its own page. The nutritional information is included, which is very helpful when deciding which recipes most suit a person's particular dietary needs.

So why did I give the book three stars? Here are a few examples:

This book really needs a good editor, not to mention proofreading. There is a consistent issue with the word 'tablespoon' printing as 'tablespoo n'. One of the recipes that sounds good is titled, "Quick and Easy Ying-Yang Banana." That should read 'Yin-Yang'. In the preface, the author states, "A balanced diet stabilizes the insulin in your blood sugar..." That is a nonsensical statement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Healthy Snacks for Everyone June 21, 2012

This book is full of wonderful snacks. All the nutritional values are included so every individual's nutritional needs are available before fixing the snack. The recipes are all easy to prepare plus delicious to eat.I can't wait to fix the baked peach dessert. It will be a treat to have a dessert and not feel guilty.

The spicy seed and nut mix will be a staple around our house. It has very a special taste and will ward off the hunger monsters in between meals.

The tomato and cucumber smoothie is summertime happiness in a glass.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a book I need! June 21, 2012
By Marcy

This is a book that I really need! I'm trying to watch my weight, but I have trouble staying satisfied. The author describes foods in this book that are meant to be not only filling, but tasty as well.

As an added plus, the author gives WeightWatchers Points Plus, as well as nutrition facts. I also love that the preparation and cooking times are shown, so I know just how much time I'm going to need.

Some of the items appear to be very versatile too. For instance, the Cinnamony Roasted Pears would make a great snack or a great dessert. I can't wait to try that one. Also, the Goat Cheese Fig Canapés are not only a great tasting snack, but a wonderful appetizer when having guests.

Furthermore, I think it's terrific and generous of Corina Tudose to donate 5% of the proceeds from this book to Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network. If the healthy snacks weren't reason enough to buy this book, that should be an added incentive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy recipes! June 19, 2012
By ARK
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
One of the biggest problems I've had eating right is getting enough calories in my day (vegetables and protein only have so many). Enter this cookbook-exactly what I needed: snacks! I often need an extra 200 calories for optimum performance, and these recipes fit the bill and allow me to have a variety of snacks to not get bored with. The got cheese fig canapes are AMAZING to eat and taste like much more than 100 calories! This cookbook will be at the front of my kindle for a long time for quick referencing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Guilt free snacks! June 18, 2012
By DiCan
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a good to come across a book that has a wide variety of different snack recipes, not just carrot and celery stick with hummus. I must say that some of the snacks are a bit usual, but they work. Like kiwi and cucumber smoothie or blue blood apricots. They are easy to make and don't that a long time to create. It is good to see the approx. time to make them and nutrition facts; calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium, etc. The only thing that is missing in this book are photos of what the snack looks like, otherwise it does help your weight loss efforts!

This is a generic book review that is being written to get this book off the “to be reviewed” list. I am a reader and I don’t necessarily read all of the books I put on my Kindle.

Corina has always been passionate about food and cooking. For the past 10 years she has explored international recipes and ways in which foods can be combined to obtain delicious flavors, while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Corina believes in cooking with natural ingredients, which fuel the body with energy and keep us healthy and strong to face our everyday challenges. In her own words:

"I grew up seeing my mother and my grandmother cook. I could never understand how from a bunch of "nothing" they can create such amazing dishes. Honestly, Math seemed a lot less complex than cooking. Until one day, when I picked up a cookbook and gave it a try. Ever since then, I see cooking as a form of art and creativity. It's the one time I can play and invent stuff. The one time I escape from the seriousness of it all and make something out of nothing. I get to discover amazing combinations, and others that make me realize that some rules are not meant to be broken. Nevertheless it's an amazing feeling. I might not be able to build a bridge, or fly a plane, but I can assure you, I can prepare a heck of a dinner!"

Corina uses her education and experience to educate others around the world through her books, online articles, seminars and the media. She also provides counseling to individuals looking to lose weight or who simply want to adopt a new healthy lifestyle. She is also a guest speaker for various organizations and universities around the world.

Healthy living is Corina's passion. She dedicates herself to constantly staying up-to-date on new and innovative training techniques as well as the latest nutrition breakthroughs in order to pass this valuable information on to her readers and audience.

Thanks to her passion and dedication she was able to reach and maintain her body's ideal weight. Through her energetic personality and determination she motivates those around her to maximize their potential, reach new heights and embrace and understand healthy eating and healthy living. She helps make cooking and food preparation fun. Corina makes losing weight a journey of self discovery and a success story. And most importantly, she makes making healthy choices easy. In her own words:

"If you don't know where you want to go, you don't know which road is the best. I have this habit that when "life gives me lemons", I go for a run. When I come back the lemons look like unripe oranges and then I know what to do. There are days we do not have the time or the discipline to eat right and exercises. And that is ok. As long as we know where we want to go, we will always know which road we need to get back on!"

Corina's motivation and vibrant energy are ubiquitous in her books, seminars and writings. She is a true force of positive energy. One that inspires and motivates others to overcome their previous failures, maintain a balanced lifestyle, and a healthy eating and living plan.
