An absolute jewel,
This review is from: Snake Country (Paperback)
This small book of poetry is powerful beyond belief. I had goose-bumps and tears while reading. James McEuen is a brilliant poet! I certainly hope he writes and publishes more. Thank you, Mr. McEuen! (mp)

Wow!,

What an excellent set of poems! There were some subjects I found at once magical and very real. Mr. McEuen is very grounded in the real world, and very good at bringing out it's hidden beauty and power in his writing.

I was more than just pleased when I finally purchased my own copy of this excellent book from a writer truly gifted in expression of both language and emotion. The subjects are immediately intimate and significant; I could feel myself sharing something with this author in reading Snake Country. Thank you for such a collection!

I'm not a poet or even a poetry fan but I bought the book on the advice of a friend. The words were inspirational and understandable. I hope "james mceuen" reads this and publishes another book. Excellent gift!

Solace for caregivers of children and elders,
By J.A. Peter (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Snake Country (Paperback)
The poems in this book will give solace and inspiration to people caught in the middle of caring for their children and their own parents, what some have called the "sandwich generation." The poet looks unflinchingly at life and death. Very moving.
