Snap-on 870116 21-Inch Trunk Organizer and Tool Carrier

I've gone through a LOT of trunk organizers trying to find something I like. I hate soft sided ones because they're so useless when they're not full enough to hold their shape. And most of the rigid sided ones I've had don't stay rigid for long because the plastic inserts work their way out and it collapses anyway.

This one was a lot smaller than I had thought from the measurements. I was replacing a larger soft sided organizer with this. And at first, I really disliked this. It's all soft sided, what holds it up are small plastic inserts just like any other one. The difference is that these fit VERY tightly in their space, and there's velcro to close up the top again after you insert them.

The "two adjustable dividers" really aren't adjustable - you can move them to either be a divider in a fixed position, or push it against the outer side so there's no divider (see pics I've uploaded). Another thing I hated about it, seemed deceptive to me. But then I thought about previous ones I've had that had the dividers that were really adjustable, and in hindsight they weren't that great, just velcro anyway that seemed to separate at the wrong time so proved to be not effective anyway.

There is nothing on the outer edge to keep this up - what holds the top metal ring sewn into the top edge up is the plastic inserts you put on the sides of your dividers (shown in the pics I've uploaded). What this means is that the outside short edges tend to droop a bit.

All in all, I was pretty disappointed when I put this together in the back of my 2012 Nissan Juke. But I figured I'd put the stuff in it anyway and see how it worked before I returned it.

And that's where the love part came into play. I managed to get everything in this from a larger organizer, and it all fit better. That metal ring sewn into the upper edge helps it keep its shape - no more having an edge "falling" over from something inside putting pressure on it.

There are a TON of pouches and storage spots on the outside for many of the things I had just thrown inside the other one. And the safety kits I have in the middle part are JUST the right height to help support the top along with the plastic inserts.

So I went from ready to return it to "wouldn't give it up" in a matter of minutes. The bottom grips great - this does not move at all even in my little turbo car on sharp fast turns.

So if you're looking for something to organize the stuff in the back of your vehicle, and don't need some really huge thing, this is an outstanding product.

I bought this to keep all the stuff I use on a regular basis in the back of my truck organized like the tie down straps, power inverters and other generic tools. This thing works perfectly for what I need. It held more than I thought it would when I got it. The construction is really solid and will hold up well over the next few years. Im impressed with all the pockets and dividers to organize everything I needed.

This is the one thing everybody with random tools in the back needs. It even has a shoulder strap to take it with you on the job site. I will say though it could be either an inch shorter to clear under the seat (it fits fine now with a little squishing) or a bit bigger to hold a bigger gauge jumper cables for a V8 motor.

Very durable, attaches well to the car and does not slide around in the trunk of the car. This was exactly what I needed to organize my roadside emergency items and not worrying about the trunk being a disaster when I need to load items.

I've been looking for a good trunk organizer for a while and was sucked in by the good reviews. It didn't disappoint. It seems very sturdy and is just about the perfect size for me. Big enough to handle a full socket wrench set, assorted tools, two spray bottles, a torque wrench, flashlight, spare sweatshirt, and a couple of other things, while not taking up too much of the trunk.

My biggest concern with this was wether or not it would stay in place because I take corners pretty fast in my car. The two velcro strips on the bottom seem to hold it very secure to the floor of my trunk, which is a pleasant surprise. Very pleased.

This is a very durable organizer and I use it in the back of my SUV to keep misc items from rolling around. It's a little smaller than I expected (paper grocery bags don't fit in it), but I keep wet wipes, suntan lotion, paper towels and other kid related items in it. And it's small enough to fit behind the seat when I use the third row, so that worked out. It also has a sticky bottom so it stays put in the trunk, which is great. I would buy it again.

Some reviews left me wondering just how good this product is, but figured I could take a chance with Amazon.

It seems to hold its shape with the reinforced dividers. Lots of pockets, making it superb for uncluttering the clutter in my trunk. It has hook-and-loop on the bottom, working like velcro with the carpet in the trunk or on your floor. I missed that part in the description when I ordered it, so I was pleasantly surprised. It's not really a big bag. It's hard to imagine it's size when all you're doing it reading measurements in the description, but it's suitable for my purposes.

I added velcro to the trunk mat and to the bottom of the organizer and now it stays in place.

I use it to carry windshield wiper fluid, booze, groceries sometimes hockey skates. It's not a very big bag, about as wide as a jug of washer fluid but that leaves the trunk still available and it fits most of what I don't want rolling around.

Christmas gift for my brother. He kept saying "This is cool." Great for the back of his truck or behind the seat. Happy brother makes for a happy sister.

Wonderfully versatile. Imagine my surprise when I was struggling to get it dug out from deep in the trunk of my large vehicle and I struggled to get it to come to me... I hadn't seen the velcro on the bottom designed to prevent this incredible organizer from sliding/rolling around the back of your vehicle. Copious amounts of pockets and sleeves, dividers are fabulous. My only tongue-in-cheek "con" for this incredible trunk organizer is my wish for it to have another 12" in width and it would be even more perfect (for me). I can't rate this highly enough... worth the price and my tools, fluids, back-up cell phone, jumpers, more than anyone would need for a roadside situation are all neatly stowed away in the hopes I'll never have to use it!

This unit is great!

Sturdy; more loops than I could possibly use. Is the Snap-On name a thief magnet? Not sure, but it's on one side only so you can hide it.
I really like the fact that it has velcro-like patches on the bottom which keep it from sliding around. Also - as others have noted - the plastic inserts keep the sides up when it's empty. It's well made and reasonably priced for a Snap-On branded item.
Quibbles: I didn't notice from the picture that this is an open-top bag; I'd like it better if it closed. But hey, that maybe fine with you. Also, you might not be able to fit your chains in this.
