1.0 out of 5 stars Stroller does not fit all models; Customer support lacking

We recently purchased a Baby Trend Snap-N-Go baby stroller from Amazon. The stroller was described as fitting most car seats. (You just place the seat into the stroller and it snaps into place.) However, despite the fact that we use a very common Evenflow carrier seat, ours does not fit in the baby stroller.

This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
When we found out we were having triplets, we like all other multiple parents bought a stroller to accommodate all the babies. The stroller is so large that we can not even fit it into a mini van. We have to purchase a large SUV or Full size van to go anywhere.

We bought the Latch Lock carriers from baby trend and we just love them. When we saw the stroller that went along with them. We decided to order the Double Snap N Go.

The stroller comes all put together, you just need to snap on the wheels. Then comes the fun part. The stroller is made for many different brands of carriers. You find the carrier you are using in the instruction manual and then you remove bars or rearrange them to fit your carrier. It is very simple and all the parts are well labeled.

The carriers just snap on to the top, just like when you snap them into the base that is in the car. There is a strap that goes over the lower half of the carrier to prevent it from rocking or coming off the stroller. It is great because you do not have to unsnap your baby from the car seat and them snap them into the stroller. No need to transfer toys and blankets from car seat to stroller. What a time saver.

It is very light weight and easy to set up. I pull it out of the trunk and just snap and lock it into place. I then just snap the carriers in place and we are off. It takes up the same amount of room that a normal single travel system would take up.
For all you shoppers out there. I took the stroller into a women's clothing store and was able to easily navigate the store. The stroller handles very well. The front wheels are adjustable. You can set them for straight ahead or let them rotate.

Because we have 3 babies, we easily become a tourist attraction. The stroller handles so well that I was able to move swiftly and accurately through spectators and display racks.

We love the Double Snap N Go so much that we have asked for the Single Snap N Go for our Baby Shower.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful! Priced right forget about buying a "Travel System, October 3, 2003

This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
I had the huge "Travel System" from Graco with my first baby. It was bulky and heavy....I gave it away, I didn't have room in my van or garage to store it. Then I found the perfect stroller, the snap and go! I bought the baby Trend car seat with the thought of also getting the Baby Trend "Sit n Stroll" but it was out of stock when I wanted to buy it.......so with a newborn at almost 10 pounds at birth and a 3 year old boy I need something QUICK! I discovered the snap and go and it is wonderful! The huge basket is perfect for everything we could ever need during the day and then some. The parent tray is perfect (although the left side for drinks is very small....only the sippy cup fits, buts thats ok) It folds nearly flat for storage, weighs less than 16 pounds and folds with one hand. It really does not get better than this! Also because it can carry so many different car seats it will be much easier to keep longer....ie, in the future if we wanted a newer car seat, the stroller is still able to hold it! I would buy it again in a heart beat!

5.0 out of 5 stars Instructions on using with Snugride may be wrong!!!, October 2, 2004
This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
This is the second Snap and Go we've owned, we had the older style in 2000 with the Graco Snugride for our first two daughters and with our third expected this month we got a new Graco Snugride carseat and a new Snap n Go. I am fairly positive the instructions on using with the Snugride are WRONG. I also assembled the stroller according to the instructions and could literally push the carseat easily off the frame down towards the basket. I was so disappointed as the Snap and Go has GOT to be my all time favorite piece of baby equipment and I was determined to use it.

So I decided to move the bar around and see if I could find a better fit. Sure enough, if you move the snap bar down to position number two and the movable piece on that bar to what appears to be position number four you've got a perfect fit! I plan on calling the company and letting them know I believe they have the wrong positions listed....this really is the best stroller option while your baby is in a carseat, I could not live without it!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Stroller does not fit all models; Customer support lacking, January 24, 2005

This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)

We recently purchased a Baby Trend Snap-N-Go baby stroller from Amazon. The stroller was described as fitting most car seats. (You just place the seat into the stroller and it snaps into place.) However, despite the fact that we use a very common Evenflow carrier seat, ours does not fit in the baby stroller.

I called Baby Trend (as was instructed in their assembly manual if a car seat was not listed in their instructions) and was told we should buy a different seat/carrier to fit their stroller! When I explained that our seat fit in the bases already correctly installed in our two vehicles and that we wanted to continue to use them, the support person said to return the stroller to Amazon.

Fine. Except for one thing.. Once assembled the front wheels will not come off and so the carrier cannot be put back in the box it was shipped in.

I called Baby Trend support again and the advice I got was to pry them off with a screw driver. I explained that it appeared that that would break them. To which the representative said it might. Her solution was to tell me to call Amazon.

When I politely expressed my dissatisfaction, the Baby Trend support person interrupted and continued to talk over me, not listening to a word I was saying..and I really was being civil. When I told her that her behavior was unprofessional and that I would like to speak to her supervisor, she replied that she was the supervisor. I asked to speak to her boss then, and she stated that he was out and that she could not tell me when he would be back.

So now I'm stuck with a stroller that doesn't work for us and cannot be easily returned. Baby Trend has taken no responsibility and been less than helpful.

Clearly this product is not as universal as it is advertised as being: "Accommodates most major brands of infant car seats." (Ours is perhaps the most common brand.)

My advice to others determined to get this product is to contact Baby Trend directly (strollers@babytrend.com) and ask if their specific model (not just brand)fits properly. I would also suggest not putting the wheels on the stroller until you've fitted your seat into it and confirmed that it works well.

We will probably end up giving ours to Good Will or the Salvation Army, as the expense and hassle of returning it may be more costly than the value of the stroller.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware of Car Seat Compatibility, November 3, 2004
This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
I was given an Evenflo Discovery Infant Car seat as a gift and was under the impression that it would work with the Snap N Go-- after all, the product claims to be compatible with Evenflo seats. It doesn't work, not only that, the chart that indicates which models are compatible is located near the end of the instruciton manual--AFTER the assembly instructions. So, now I have a fully assembled Snap N Go (I can't return) that won't work with my car seat.
My advice? Call the Baby Trend customer service number (800-328-7363) before buying this product to make sure that your car seat will work!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not ideal for Graco Snug Ride car seats, April 25, 2006
This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
the Graco Snug Ride car seat does not securely "snap" into the snap and go as indicated in the product manual. even after strapping in the car seat, i found the stability of the car seat on the stroller to be less than desired and less secure than i'm comfortable with. if you have a Graco car seat, i recommend spending the extra $10 to get the Graco version of the snap and go where the car seat will snap and lock onto the stroller much more securely.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, September 2, 2003
By
This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
What a great product! It's lightweight, easy to fold and works with the Peg Perego infant seat. Although, I do recommend adding an additional crossbar (3 total) to make the seat sit more securely on the frame. I am very happy with this stroller and am glad I did not purchase a travel system. This has all the features I need and is not expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, June 28, 2004

I bought the snap-n-go for our Graco Snug Ride infant car seat and it's been fantastic. Some reviewers say that they had trouble getting the Graco Snug Ride to fit in the stroller--- I completely disagree and can only assume they're installing it incorrectly. Ours fit like a glove. I am a designer and tried so many strollers/ travel systems out before deciding to go with the snap-n-go. First of all, you can't beat the price, the weight and the ease of use. Yes, it doesn't take bumps like a tougher stroller, but it does the job as far as running errands and getting in and out of the car quickly and easily. Then once the baby out grows the infant car seat, go for something like the Maclaren stroller that's also lighteaight, easy to fold and compact. These travel systems are for the birds...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!!!, April 6, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
We had purchased the Eddie Bauer Travel System and had to return it when we found it wouldn't fit in our trunk. It didn't even come close. It was a mammoth piece of equipment and was very heavy. Travel Systems are a great idea, but they are probably only good for people with Mini Vans or SUV's. But we have a '97 firebird . So, of course, I was very excited when I came across the Snap 'N Go. It is the perfect alternative to the large Travel Systems. Following other reviewers advice, we purchased the Baby Trend infant car seat and it fits perfectly!! It snaps on very securely and has the extra belt support. I'm not due until mid May, but I know this is going to be my favorite baby purchase. Don't listen to the bad reviews. I highly recommend it, even if you have room for a large Travel System. What's really nice is that the directions include specific instruction on how to use many different types of infant car seats. So, if you have an infant car seat other than the Baby Trend, if should fit securely as well.

It is now mid July and my little bundle is now 9 weeks old. I still love the Snap N Go. It is light, so convenient and is VERY manuverable. Highly recommend!

3.0 out of 5 stars Review when used with Graco Car Seat, October 2, 2005

= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Snap 'N Go Infant Car Seat Carrier (Baby Product)
I know that product is for universal use. Since we bought a Graco Snugride, we can only give our experience when used with this product.

Positives:
- inexpensive
- light-weight
- nice sized basket
Negatives:
- just an OK fit for a Graco Snugfit
- not well engineered

The positives speak for themselves. Please allow me to expand on the negatives. I have not been able to "snap" it in, it just sits on top of the frame. By the name of the product, I would have thought it was "snap-n-go" literally. There is a strap that is on the frame that can secure the car seat, and I have to use it everytime. Otherwise, I feel that it is unsafe.

There's also a slight engineering problem. It could have been a defect in my purchase. Upon assembly, there are different settings depending on your car seat. For Graco, you need to attach a bar at the very end of the frame. Problem is that it is right at the curve of the bar. It's kinda hard to explain, but imagine a curved piece of metal and you need to attach a straight plastic piece to it. After a lot of cursing and sweat, I was able to get it assembled. I came very close to returning it.

Graco now has its own version of a car seat stroller. It's a lot sturdier and it snaps/locks on to the frame. For a few bucks more, it is worth the price.

There was a previous review that had the same issues, so I feel it's a confirmed feeling when used with Graco car seats.
