2.0 out of 5 stars only two games, December 21, 2007
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Snap! Mega Pinball (CD-ROM)
There are apparently two versions of Mega Pinball. Don't confuse the Mega Pinball (Jewel Case) edition from Casual Arcade with this product. "Snap! Mega Pinball" from Topics Entertainment only includes the first two boards, Monsters Rhapsody and Crystal Tower. The last entry, Dragon Slayer!, is disabled by making it impossible to enter a ball into play. Not a big loss though, since the first two games aren't that interesting.

2.0 out of 5 stars Make sure you've got the right one!, May 2, 2011
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Snap! Mega Pinball (CD-ROM)
As the previous reviewer noted, there are indeed two versions of this game.. although they look identical in every respect.. furthermore , I can't confirm that the good ones are on the 'casual arcade' discs, as I bought one of those also, and it had the same issues ( unable to launch ball)..
Here's how to tell if you HAVE one that will play properly on VISTA or Windows 7..
The faulty ones have a main program executable (named , usually, pinball.exe) of less than 300 kilobytes, whereas the ones that *will* work, have a main executable of approximately 3.5 Megabytes..
However, it may take a few tries to get it to start up.. whereas the 300 kb one seems to start up right away each time..

Sad fact is, it's not really a very good pinball at all... and it doesn't save preferences either, it's not like it's , well, a *real* pinball game or anything..but if you're only looking for a little light diversion, or (like me) your obsessive and absolutely *have* to have a copy of every computer pinball made.. it's fine then..
I'm not sure if all the 'snap' pinballs are crippled as the previous reviewer said.. in my case it was the exact opposite.. the 'casual arcade' version was the one that was no good ..i bought the downloaded version, however, not the 'jewel case'..so it may be different..

But.. what the hey.. for 3 bucks, it's worth gambling .. i paid $9.95 for the screwy one from SelectSoft..

1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't work, August 3, 2008
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Snap! Mega Pinball (CD-ROM)
this product does not perform well on my computer it may on yours. Variouse functions of the game such as the game options just do not work, you can't click the buttons. I would not recomend this one to anyone at all. You might have better luck than I did though.
