Uneasy Feeling,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Snap-On 870012 3/4-inch to 1-3/4 inch Coil Roofing Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
Experienced roofer, used many kinds of guns. Never purchased one new until this past week. Got it in the mail, perfect condition, looks just like the photo.. but running on a 150 max Porter Cable pancake compressor, will run a DeWalt and chinsy Campbell Hausfeld, no problems. When running this Snap-On with two guns, it wouldn't sink the nails the whole way. Kept having to beat them down, heck I could hand nail faster than that process. So I try the Porter Cable with just my Snap-On and still the same results. Tampering with the nail set adjustment, and pressure and only occasionally sinking them properly. Frustrated, I hooked up to a larger Hitachi 2 gal dual tank, and it was still not sinking them right. Based off my own experience, the amount of pressure I'm giving it, as well as a good oiling, it still refuses to shoot right. I've also found that it runs a little slow for my pace of work from time to time, besides having to stop, get the hammer and finish 4 of 5 nails. A fellow worker tells me that it needs to break in and wear in a bit and it will start to react better. I went out on a chance with no other reviews to follow, and keeping in mind Snap-On's reputable name, It was not quite like I expected it to be. Excellent design, magnet in the chamber to hold your nail. Last one gets fired, not spit out. I will continue to try this out. Any advice is appreciated at O.BContracting@ymail.com
