4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good, February 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Snapper 1695909 29-Inch 305cc 4-Cycle OHV Briggs & Stratton 1450 Snow Series Gas Powered Self Propelled Two-Stage Snow Thrower With Electric Start (Lawn & Patio)
The Snapper 29" is about the same size machine as my 1999 Noma 10hp 27" but touts 14.5 torque as opposed to hp. I bought it for the remote chute controls and hopefully added power. Upon first inspection I'd say the chute up and down motor is an afterthought. The wiring is amateur and the drive gear/motor is an exposed plastic screw drive. I'm going to have to rig a cover and wire guard. The chute rotate is well assembled and protected. The machines locking handles are a 1/3 shorter than my Noma thus indicating more grip fatigue to keep them down. The intake height of the Snapper is only 19.5 inches, a little short. The machine started right up and after the first snow I'll report back on how well it worked.
