Snapper SE and SP series mowers are not even made by Snapper, they are contracted out to MTD!! MTD is a very low budget manufacturer and the mowers simply are not durable. Stick to the tried and true Snapper high vac or ninja series mowers. They are a little more expensive, but they will last 20 years with basic maintenance.

Have a five year old mower in this model and let me tell you it's durable. A couple of years ago mine rolled down my sloped driveway, crossed a busy street into a side street and became half propped up on a curb. Total travel distance was about 200 feet. Only damage was a slight bend in the housing where it went up on the curb. The only thing I've ever done to this mower is routine maintenance: oil and filter changes, replace spark plug, clean out underside. I cut my grass once a week through Oct and even into Nov. at 2+ hrs of mower run time. It works well as a bagger or a mulcher. I got sick of emptying and lugging bags so I use it as a mulcher. FYI, mine came with a blade for mulching. Same blade can be used for bagging but you'll get better results if you invest in a bagging blade. Recommend you try mulching though. Better for your lawn, less work for you, no worry about getting rid of clippings. I bagged for years before turing to mulching and am glad I did. Just don't let the grass get too high between cuttings. I did get a great deal when I bought mine. Between sale price, coupons, and early bird doorbuster buy, I paid only about $270.00. If need be I would pay more to replace mine if needed but I don't see that happening any time soon. FYI, I shappen my blade 3 times a season. This is someting most people neglect. It's very important for a healthy lawn. Good luck!

We have a large property with some pretty steep inclines. We use this mower for those areas that the riding mower cannot safely traverse. It handles the hills well!

Yes a Mothers Day gift by request. The electric start is great for us people with bad shoulders. Went together easily, starts easily. The battery has a separate charger, but I am still on the initial charge.

This is a nice mover, I didn't think the key start would be that big a deal, but I LOVE it. My only complaint about this mower is the powered controls. The small handle that controls the speed is very touchy and kind of uncomfortable. There are also only two speeds, light speed and ludicrous speed! That's the only reason I won't give this a 5 star rating, I think there is room for improvement on the "gas pedal" and variable speed controls.
