5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta love em!
I love Snappis for securing our prefolds. They stay in place the same way the old Ace bandages did with those metal clasps, except Snappis are plastic teeth (not too sharp). I keep a couple on hand since they tend to get misplaced. They have held up without breakage (so far) for about five months (daytime only). 1.0 out of 5 stars The add is a little bit deceiving?
I give this product only single star, not because of the product itself, but because of the way the quantity is represented in this add. When you buy one pack, you are thinking 5 of these come to a pack, as shown? No, only ONE single snappi comes in a pack. They should make that quite clear in this add and show only ONE, with a choice of colors, not a picture of 5 of them...

I keep a couple on hand since they tend to get misplaced. They have held up without breakage (so far) for about five months (daytime only). I love how they keep the prefold tight and in place under the diaper cover or vinyl pants. I have read recommendations against tucking the prefold under the diaper cover flap since it can cause wicking of moisture with some brands, so then you either need pins/snappis or hope for the best. I have heard too many awful stories about diaper pins so I am so thankful for an alternative. An ingenious one, at that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Snappis are great, December 15, 2007

Snappis are a great invention. They keep prefolds in place to keep the mess inside the diaper...no leaking! I usually can use one snappi for 4 months, as long as I stretch it out good before use (as directions recommend).
When I began cloth diapering I would just fold the diaper inside the cover, but as babies grow and begin to move around there comes a need to secure the diaper. Safety pins are difficult and sharp objects near baby's belly aren't a good option. The snappi is inexpensive, fairly durable, and extremely easy to use. Buy one and you'll never go back!
PS: If you are thinking of cloth diapering but haven't started yet, I highly recommend it. It's much less expensive than disposables and easier than it sounds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative to pins, but not very durable, September 26, 2007
Snappi fasteners work quite well. We use them with prefolds, contours, and wool wrap covers. They're so much easier than pins. We pull them pretty tight, so they tend to break fairly quickly (<3 months). Even so, they're so cheap that it's not a problem to replace them often.

They should make that quite clear in this add and show only ONE, with a choice of colors, not a picture of 5 of them in a stack. It is misleading. I would not have ordered just a single one at that price plus shipping if it had not looked like there were Five to the pack.

This is a good substitute for diaper pins; you can remove the fastener with one hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative to pins, March 2, 2009
Each one lasts for months and is really sturdy. I hated using pins with cloth diapers, so this is much better and it keeps the diaper snug. I've never had one come undone. I would recommend darker colors because the lighter colored ones got stained a bit over time.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product, wish it was more durable, December 17, 2008
If you're going to order this product, order a few. They work great for prefolds but break easily. Fortunately, they're pretty cheap so I don't mind having to have several on hand.

4.0 out of 5 stars works as promised, June 20, 2009
I really liked this product! It's easy to use and works as described. I did notice that with newborn Chinese prefold diapers the hooks kinda went through and i could feel them on the other side of the fabric (where my dd skin is). I decided not to use them with that size. The larger size of those and the gerbers were totally fine and did not even come close to poking through. All in all i liked the product and would buy again.

Plus, they are so darn cute in person. They are really tiny. I thought they were going to be bigger b/c of the pictures!

4.0 out of 5 stars Easier than pins..., January 25, 2009

I agree with other reviewers - best to have more than one. They can break, they can get lost, etc. But I find them to be really useful and easy to work with. They have little claw teeth (soft of remind me of the closures for ace bandages but larger, rubbery and in candy colors) that grip to the diaper. It's possible to put this on with one hand while handling a squirming baby. They stretch a bit so they can ensure a secure fit of the diaper around leg holes, etc.

Many people just tuck a prefold into a diaper cover, but I find the Snappi helps keep everything in place with a squirming baby - like having an extra hand with changing.

Do note, only one Snappi comes in each pack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous!, January 18, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Snappis are the best invention for an alternative to safety pins. I was determined to use cloth diapers, but using safety pins discouraged me. I tried a snappi and absolutely loved it. My husband and I use it with ease. My little boy is starting to squirm more and more day by day, so it's crucial to find a method that works as great as a snappi.
