Great alternative to pins!,

If you are using cotton prefolds or flats, then these are a great alternative to the traditional diaper pins. However, they tend to tear up wool and fleece and have problems grabbing onto hemp and bamboo. It helps to stretch out the snappi a little before using the first time and remember to wipe it off with a wipe or wash it in cool water and dish soap every now and again. Hot water and excessive heat in general will weaken the material. Also there is a larger size for toddlers. I recommend buying this size at around 10-12 months. Speedy shipping and instructions included on package. I gave this four stars because it seems to only be effective when used on cotton fabric.

perfect for cloth diapers,
This review is from: Snappi Cloth Diaper Fasteners - Pack of 3 (Light Blue, Bright Blue, White)
Snappis are the best for fastening cloth diapers. They hook right into the cotton cloth, and they're so simple, they stay put no matter how much wiggling happens. I use diaper covers over my cloth diapers as well, along with the snappi.

These things are lot easier than using the safety pins! Just be careful to order the correct size for your baby or toddler so that it's not too tight on them. The first time I ordered them, I didn't know that they came in sizes. Just FYI!

we've been cding for over 2 yrs, we use covers and prefolds. its the most economical way for us.i have always used diaper pins, have never poked or scratch one of our babies, poke myself quite often :-) i had seen these since we began our cding adventure, and never thought again about them, for the price pens were worth it. we bought a gently used lot from cglist and she threw in 2 snappis nib, and so we gave it a try. my first impression was fear, with nothing to lock the teeth what would happen if the slipped off?! just maneuvering to attach them was a pain. after about two weeks of dreadfully changing our 12 mo old, one of them finally snapped in 2. not to mention that quite often the white plastic "teeth" triangles would occasionally come completely off!!! isn't that a choking hazard?? the final straw, after i had thrown out the broken snappi, was when i started to notice that the corners of my pricey hemp prefolds were ripping, that was all i needed to experience. why pay for something that rips up your stash? for the money buy gerber locking diaper pins. safer, more cost effective, and not dangerous!

I have been buying snappis for 5 years. I never knew they had different sizes. These are smaller than my others. Looking back at the description, I see that they do state they are size 1 and for babies up to 18 months. No way will they fit most babes up to 18 months. Thankfully I bought them for my newborn and my next babe up (whom is 18 mo.) is SUPER petite and they work okay for her too. But in the past, the bigger snappis did just fine for a newborn and fit your older ones too.

It took a little practice to get proficient with these, but I love them! Faster than pins, use with prefolds or flat diapers for a snug fit. Cloth diapers have come a long way!

with a infant exploring his little world around him and trying to figure out this whole rolling thing, these give me the ease of mind knowing he wont get stuck with a diaper pin

A must for prefolds!,
This review is from: Snappi Cloth Diaper Fasteners - Pack of 3 (Light Blue, Bright Blue, White)
My mom bought these for me at my request when I told her I wanted to cloth diaper. She told me she thought that these were stupid and that I should just use pins. Well, after my son arrived I was happy to show her just how easy and wonderful these worked. She is now just as big of a fan of the Snappi as I am.

Snappis make it possible for me to use prefolds. I wouldn't feel comfortable using pins, and folding the diapers under the covers never seems to hold them in place well enough. These work well and are very easy to learn for grandparents, husbands, etc.

I wondered whether to buy 2 packs of these b/c it didn't seem like three snappis would be enough for one baby. I decided to start with one pack, and that turned out to be plenty.I consider these a must have for my cloth diapers (prefolds with covers)--definitely worth the $ to not have to bother with safety pins. |
