Product Description

Pack of 6 (2 purple, 2 white, 2 mint green). These are new, never used Snappis, but may not be in product packaging to save mailing costs plus I recycle the packaging. The Snappi® is a safer, more reliable, EASY to use fastener for cloth diapers that replaces the nasty diaper pins. The stretchable non-toxic Snappi® hooks into the diaper material to make a strong closure. They work best with diapers that have a loose enough weave for the Snappi® to hook into. (Snappi® terry cloth diapers, cotton pre-folds, and others) Note they do not work well with flannel or other tightly woven diapers. How to use your Snappi®: To improve elasticity, stretch your Snappi® fastener a few times before use. Step 1: Hook left Step 2: Stretch across and hook right Step 3: Stretch down and hook center The Snappi® should go from a "T" shape to a "Y" shape when stretched properly. Warning: Always use a cover over a Snappi fastener. Keep out of children's reach when not in use. Do not use a Snappi fastener on toddlers that have the ability to undo or take off their cover/diaper/clothes. Do not use your Snappi for longer than 6 months. Not UV resistant - exposure to the sun can reduce the effectiveness of the Snappi. CAUTION: Any tear in the Snappi can lead to separation of a piece, presenting a possible choking hazard. Inspect the Snappi before each use and discontinue using immediately if there is any sign of cracking, tearing, breakage or wear of the teeth or any other parts. Do not cut a Snappi as this may cause tearing.

These really are great, if you use them correctly. To be fair, it sounds like one of the other reviewers thought this was instead of a diaper cover. It is not. You use these in addition to the diaper cover. These are really useful with a newborn baby who has not started solids. With these, you can still use prefolds for a newborn and not get complete "blow outs" because they help hold it in. I used these with prefolds and either a Thirstie diaper cover (which are also great btw) or a wool soaker at night. Wonderful! Now, as baby gets older, I don't need them as often, but still use them every once in a while. Once baby is on more solids and blow outs are a thing of the past, you can just fold a prefold in thirds, lay it in the diaper cover and close it up. I still do use the snappi sometimes when I'm using a wool soaker for nighttime and our fitted diapers are dirty.

Getting them tight enough can be tricky though. Think of them like the little hook things you get with an Ace bandage. It works the same way. You need to hook it in one side then pull tight across the little belly and grab the other side. As the snappi closes up, the hooks should grab the fabric and make a nice tight fit.

I would say about the only drawback to these little guys is that they have pretty sharp teeth! Watch out for grabby babies' hands - these things can hurt a little.

My little lady is 14 months now and when she began crawling/walking finding a great way to safely secure the cloth prefold before wrapping it in a cover was a must. And these do the trick. They are easy to use (hook to the left, then stretch to the right and finally down the middle) and my husband does it with ease also.. We've tried diaper pins to hold it all together and I have a hard time sliding them smoothly through the 2-4 layers of prefold, so SNAPPIS it is.

Only got a 4star instead of a 5 is because the little loop that is supposed to cover the claw when not in use has broken in at least one place on probably most of my snappies.... And they begin to stretch-out. {maybe i'm just a little too rough w/ them.... }

All in all I would recommend them to a friend (and I have)

We are a cloth diapering family, and I bought these in hopes of ridding myself of diaper pins. No more poked babies! These things work great! We don't need to use them very often though, since we use prefolds and proraps. They have never failed yet! And my baby can wiggle out of most disposables without problem.
great product!

I decided to do cloth diapers when my twins came along, and I tried pins. Not only did pins make me uncomfortable, but they are harder to put on, and bulkier. These snappis are wonderful. They pull the diaper together and are quick easy and safe too. They are a great alternative to the diaper pin, and I would definitely suggest them.

I have to say I was scared to cloth diaper my oldest son because of the pins. I found these when he was potty training so when I was having another I jumped on the chance to try them. I LOVE THEM. It truly makes cloth diapering a breeze, you don't have to worry about accidentally pinning a squirming infant and you don't have to worry about droopy diaper butt when they wet because you had to hold your fingers under it when you pin. These allow you to get the diapers to fit securely and hold in place no matter what the load into them and what their activity level. Cloth diapering dream!

I'm just so glad I don't have to use pins! These work great. I don't care for the white colored ones as they're harder to find against the white prefolds, but that's not a big deal. They do the job...just make sure to use a quality prefold to ensure the "teeth" won't go through the cloth and scape baby's skin. I have some cheepo Gerber prefolds that need a special fold at the top because of that problem. All of the nicer prefolds I don't have to worry about. Thank you to whomever invented these little things.

the best thing about these is they are so handy!!! i love not worrying about stabbing my baby with a pin. these snappies help streamline cloth diapering. a must have for people starting out on their cloth diaper adventure and those veteran bummy wrappers. the "teeth" are quite sharp and grab prefolds, flatfolds, fitted, and any other cotton-type diaper. not for use with PUL as it will puncture your waterproof layers. great for use UNDER PUL and other diaper covers.

Purchased these for our prefolds that we use with Thirsties covers. They work great and really only needed one packet (we bought two). Easy to wash. I don't mind the limited colors because we keep a cover over the prefolds.

But please be careful when using these; the teeth grip the cotton fabric very well and even leave small holes behind. Also, keep away from your cats. Ours want to play with them, but again, they're very sharp.
