Product Description

The original Snappy Trainer was the most effective, least expensive product of its type available until now. Still sold in sets of 2. Minor product enhancements make new Snappy Trainer a superior value and it's now Printed and shipped assembled, with pride in the USA. Deeper grooves under the mounting clips allow for a more stable marriage between the varying sizes of mousetrap wire and the affixed plastic paddle virtually eliminating accidental separation. One size fits all ..... no need to trim the paddle as the larger size 'defends' a larger area thus requiring fewer units, and the co-efficient of drag once triggered makes for an impressive sight and sound as it leaps into action! This unique improved product will allow you to correct a large variety of unwanted behaviors. If you are teaching your dog or cat to stay off a chair, one Snappy Trainer works well. A couch might require three or a bed, six. To restrict your pet to a certain area of the house or apartment, several rows of Snappy Trainer's at a doorway or hallway entrance may be needed. Use the Snappy Trainer as a problem begins to develop. For example, if you catch your dog licking the end of a wooden rocker, expect that he will chew on it the next time. By putting some Snappy Trainer's on the job before he does, you'll not only have a good chance of saving the chair, you will also discourage his development of a gourmet taste for furniture. This product effectively stops dogs and cats from: *Getting into trash *Jumping up on furniture/beds *Stealing food from counters and tables *Chewing *Housebreaking problems associated with a certain room or area *Running out the front door *Stealing shoes from the closet *Digging *Entering restricted areas of the house (pantry, upstairs, formal living room, baby's room) *other destructive behaviors

Our Brittany hit it one time and from then on would stand on her hind feet in the middle of the kitchen to see where they were placed.

We are fostering a standard poodle who can easily reach the kitchen counter tops and had snagged several pieces of a cake I was wrapping for storage while I left briefly to change a load of laundry. I ordered three of the snappy trainers and placed them around a food decoy. It wasn't long before one snapped and the poodle leaped back, then stayed away from the counter for several days. I've used them intermittently since and he hasn't taken anything. It did take us awhile to figure out how to set them up, but once you know it is easy. They did not hurt him but they sure got his attention. A good product.

So I bought these because I have a dog who likes to steal towels, oven mitts, and anything she can get her mouth on to chew apart that smells interesting to her. I was fed up with socks gone missing, with towels torn into shreds, etc.

So I get the package and try to set them up... which was crazy insane because I don't know if I'm inept or what, but they are very sensitive and snap super fast. I think I was cursing more than I probably should have trying to set them up... but my dog was watching me the entire time and watching it snap, flip, fly, etc. Needless to say when I finally did get it set up, she didn't touch anything. No towels that I had 'trapped' were touched, the oven mitts were left untouched... and it got to the point where I could just set one of these on top of something without setting it up as a trap before she knew that it was off limits.

So, I cannot complain that they don't work, because while they didn't work as intended, the end result was the same (I just got slapped and snapped at a lot in the process, LOL!)

I have a very inquisitive and stubborn puppy that won't stop countersurfing. Unfortunately, these devices do not stop her countersurfing. She happily sets them off and brings them to me, and then continues countersurfing. I am giving 5 stars because I now know at least when she is countersurfing (since I can hear them snap or she brings them to me) and can at least go and stop her. And it is pretty funny.

I use these in addition to SSSCat canisters and it's made a huge difference. I notice that my dumb cat loves to get on the counter when she shouldn't be on them. These definitely do the job when trying to keep her off. It scares her and it's taken a couple of weeks but has been a huge help!

The snappy trainer works well. We used it before with our Black Lab. It only takes a couple 'snaps' in their face before the behavior you try to change is changed or is changing. All we have to do is just place the trainer in their view and they stay away from the area. The snap is loud which is what helps train them but it doesn't hurt them at all.

Just used the snappy trainer to teach my greyhound to stay off the sofa. Second dog I have done this with - works better than anything.
