I have used preen for years, with little satisfaction.I went to a landscaping forum
and heard about SnapShot 2.5 TG. Wow what a difference.
This product made my landscaping weed free. You will have to pull the weeds
yourself (unless you are using Round-Up)once that is accomplished apply
SnapShot 2.5 TG and be weed free for about 8 month's, unless you dig or break
the soil where the product is applied, then you will have to re-apply
SnapShot to the area where you dug.Product is Awesome.

I have desert landscaping and got tired of using round up, spectracide, and vinegar to attack the weeds. This is a pre-emergent, so it stops new weeds from starting but won't kill existing weeds--you will still have to deal with those after the first application, but if you keep up with applying it every 6 months you will never have weeds again. One bag lasts me a whole year, applying it in March and October each year. I have been getting it through amazon for the last 3 years, since I can't find it locally anywhere (I live in Phoenix). You have to either apply it right before a good rain or water it in after application. I usually have to water it it because it rarely rains here. I have 2 small dogs; for their safety I keep them out of the yard while applying it and don't let them out until I have it watered in. Great product--it really works!

We use SNAPSHOT after weeding to keep their seeds from germinating. It really helps
& lasts for several months. Any weeds already sprouted will come up, but it stops a lot of them from sprouting. Amazon had the best price!!

This is the 2nd year that I have used Snapshot in the garden. I hardly ever have to weed anymore. When I do, I broadcast some more Snapshot before it rains. While a bag is expensive, it lasts much longer than preen. I highly recommend it.

I had never used a pre-emergent before and used lots of Round-Up for large mulched portions of my yard in past years.
I looked up Amazon customer ratings and based on them ordered Snapshot. It seems to have done a real good job. I applied it using a small hand-cranked spreader to reduce waste and will easily have enough for a second application later should it be necessary. At this point I plan to use the same product next year.

Applied early March in Flower Garden beds. Too late for the abundant chick-weeds. Will apply again in early September for those. Too bad its not organic for the food garden.

Preen was always pretty useless. Weeds seemed unaffected. This product so far has stopped most weeds. Couldn't touch the onions since those are bulbs not seeds.

One bag does seem to cover a lot. Like the color which has a nice contrast for hand spreading. Similar color to Preen.

If it holds up for six months this will be worth a five star rating.

I'd say two bags a year for less than $300 will be worth it not to have to pull weeds all year long.
