Favorite food storage boxes ever!,

This review is from: Snapware 401018 Mods 22-Piece Food-Storage Box Set (Kitchen)
These have been just great - we've been using two of the 28-piece sets for about two years. They are very sturdy and have held up really well. They stack nicely in the fridge, allowing really efficient storage of leftovers. A couple of notes though... We don't run them through the dishwasher hot dry cycle. High heat will warp them over time and the snap seals become a bit harder to close. For the same reason we don't reheat in the microwave with the lids on, or let the reheat go on forever. I think that's why we've never had any staining problems with them either. In any case, they are a good sturdy product and we love them!

Definitely keeps the pantry moths out!,
This review is from: Snapware 401018 Mods 22-Piece Food-Storage Box Set (Kitchen)
"Pantry Moths" seem to love the part of the country we live in, and it's been a forever battle keeping them out of just about every kind of dry food product you can imagine. I'd tried all kinds of plastic containers over the years that supposedly 'seal', but nothing worked. And then I found Snapware! These containers seal tighter than anything I've used before, and in the past year that I've been using them, I haven't had a single problem with the moths getting into the food inside. I have several large containers for things like pasta, bisquick, and saltines, and two sets of the smaller ones for everything from corn starch to cocoa. The added bonus I discovered in the process is that not only do they keep the bugs out, they also look neat and organized in my pantry. I definitely give Snapware containers a two thumbs up! :-)

Stains easily and leaks,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Snapware 401018 Mods 22-Piece Food-Storage Box Set (Kitchen)
I bought this set as a replacement for a friend. I took home one treasured piece from a friend's potluck. She repeated over and over how precious this brand new set was to her and how she wanted it back. Imagine my horror when I got home and found this brand new piece was ruined by a tomato stain. I know it wasn't stained when the food was put in. I saw it in its virgin state. It was perfectly clear and then a stain. Most of the time, I've found that plastic storage containers stain when tomato based foods are heated in them, but this food was cold. Most containers nowadays seem to resist staining, so this left a huge negative impression.
STAINING Of course, these storage containers stain more easily than other plastic storage containers. However, I have managed to keep all but two of these plastic containers stain-free, so it's not as bad as I originally thought. LEAKING This product is not good for storing soup in my daughter's lunchbag. When she gets home, her bag is a soaking mess. The box is closed, but soup is everywhere. EASE OF USE Snapping the lids on is not hard, but as the product ages, I am finding it harder and harder to do. It's like they don't fit as well now as they used to. This can happen with disposable containers, but it shouldn't happen with reusable ones. SUMMARY There are more durable products out there that don't stain as easily and don't leak. I would personally not buy this set again.
