Book Description

February 1987
"If you are going to get killed in the line of duty, you might as well get a little personal satisfaction out of it." Those are the thoughts of Clifford Driscoll, the unwilling tool of the Agency. No sooner does he step off the plane at Heathrow than he is greeted by a hail of bullets. Obviously, traveling under the assumed name "Bellman" hasn't fooled his nemeses. Bellman now has two priorities - find the missing Sir Lewis Alfot, former director of British Intelligence, and avoid being killed by Leo Calvin, an American terrorist Bellman has dealt with in the past. Unfortunately, Calvin's sole priority at the moment is to destroy Bellman. From London to Brighton and from France back to England, three highly trained spies play out a deadly drama of revenge - a drama which may be interrupted at any time by yet another killer waiting in the wings.

3.0 out of 5 stars sequel to Cronus, November 6, 2007
This review is from: Snark (Hardcover)
DeAndrea has at least 3 series of books. One is the adventures of Professor Bennedetti & his sidekicks which is quite clever and amusing. Another is about the exploits of Matt Cobb, a TV Executive. But, this book is from the 3rd series about reluctant spy "Driscoll." I'm not that into spy novels, so you might like this better than I did. This is the 2nd one in the series, a sequel to the 1st, Cronus. I liked it better than "Cronus" maybe worth 3.5 stars. I was going to give it a 4 since it has some cleverness in it, but the ending seemed too far-fetched to me. I like it when an author ties up loose ends, but...Some of the characters seemed to act so out-of-character. Try his other series, they're IMHO much better. I've read 2 Bennedetti's including the accaimed The Hog Murders (Ipl Library of Crime Classics) and one of the Cobb books KILLED IN FRINGE TIME: A Matt Cobb Mystery which wasn't the award-winner Killed In The Ratings either. Have fun!
