5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely loved it!
"Snarky and Sweet" is just that and a great read! It hooks you from the beginning and keeps you entertained to the very end. It's suspenseful, humorous and romantic as well. It's great to find a good book that anyone (of all ages) would find it appropriate to read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute But Totally Predictable
This book is a riff on the "twins who are complete opposites" theme. It's pretty well done in terms of the twins' characters, and at times I was reminded of Bette Midler and Lilly Tomlin in the movie, Big Business. The book is described as a romantic comedy, so I just went with the flow with the plot developments which include a huge diamond and kidnapping the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Romance for YA, December 22, 2011
Ms. Denney writes with much humor. She brings you into the small town circle of friends. You get to know everyone important to Lee. Chang, Lurlette's husband, is also brought in when he comes to Texas to rescue the women. Lee's impression of Chang is one of a busy, wealthy man who perhaps neglected his wife for business. It is totally based on her idea of what a wealthy man is like. I really liked that the author took the time to let us get to know Chang and see how wrong that idea was.
This was a fun book to review and I am looking forward to more books by Susan. When I finished this book, at 2:30 in the morning, I actually gave an audible "awww!". If you are looking for a sweet, funny, clean, fast romantic read this is the book for you. It has no language or sex issues so it is great for the YA crowd or those who don't like their romance books spicy.
Full review on my blog.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute But Totally Predictable, January 21, 2012

This book is a riff on the "twins who are complete opposites" theme. It's pretty well done in terms of the twins' characters, and at times I was reminded of Bette Midler and Lilly Tomlin in the movie, Big Business. The book is described as a romantic comedy, so I just went with the flow with the plot developments which include a huge diamond and kidnapping the twins.

My main problem came with interaction between the heroine and her love interest. There simply wasn't enough of it. At 75% of the book, I was still wondering where the heroine's love life was really going. We are given some hints, but there isn't enough interaction between the characters to support their growing emotions. Then, in the last couple of chapters, everything is stirred up, all the plot lines are resolved, and the characters all live happily ever after.

I enjoyed the "lifestyle of the rich and famous" glimpses in the book, and I did finish it. There are some quirky characters and good dialogue. I only caught a few typos and misplaced apostrophes. This was a good read, and I will give the author another try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing, November 3, 2011

This review is from: Snarky and Sweet: A Romantic Comedy about Twins, Texas and a Big Red Diamond (Paperback)
I read quite a bit, but I always struggle when choosing my next book because I have high morals. So many best sellers have disappointed me with violence, sex and unhappy endings. How wonderful then, to pick up Susan Denney's sweet little romance and not only be entertained but tickled pink by no harsh language or lewd situations!!! This is a book I can share without worry with anyone, including teens and my mom! (A rare occurrence I can assure you!)
I highly recommend this fun adventure to anyone who is weary of fiction lacking standards.
Also a wonderful gift for the reader in your life. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Lighthearted romance, January 20, 2012
This review is from: Snarky and Sweet: A Romantic Comedy about Twins, Texas and a Big Red Diamond (Paperback)
This was just a whole lot of fun and has a bit of everything- sibling rivals that become friends, romance, kidnapping, dreams meeting reality head to head, and the best "are you the right one for me?" scene I have ever read.

I can't find another Kindle book by Ms Denney!! I absolutely loved this book. It was so not the normal romance novel. I enjoyed a break from too many sex scenes. And I didn't think it was predictable at all. I was all ready to buy another kindle book by Ms Denney and low and behold, I can't find one! Arghh!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh...it was ok. I guess., January 29, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
What pulled me in was the "Snarky and Sweet: a romantic comedy" part. I'm a sucker for romantic comedy. I'm also a sucker for snark. However, this book was a bit tame for my tastes. I'm used to reading books with a lot more steam in them. There wasn't a whole lot of romance to it until the end. Even then it wasn't believable and the h/h didn't seem to connect well. The hero could definitely have been fleshed out a bit more. I didn't think there was a whole lot of snark or comedy either. There was a bit of snark and I can remember only 1 or 2 instances of comedy. Altogether, I'd give this book a "meh" with a shoulder shrug. Meaning, I could take it or leave it. As a plus, I can say it did give me a bit of the need to keep reading to see what was going to happen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Cute Read, January 24, 2012
Snarky and Sweet is a really cute read about identical twins. With a great plot that keeps you turning the pages, romance and comedy thrown in, it's a fantastic way to spend a snowy winter's a day.

A clash of identical twins who are identical only in looks, not personalities. I loved it from the very first, seeing how they interacted with each other and with the world. The ending was super and just as it should have been.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping, yet Charming!, January 21, 2012

What a fantastic novel! As a resident of North Texas and student of French, this book made me a little nostalgic. Denney is witty and has a true sense of what romance really is. Couldn't believe I got this book for free for kindle! Going to have to purchase a hard copy to keep, though, I think. :) **It should be noted that this book is completely wholesome. I recommend it to anyone!
