KEYBOARD CHORD COMPUTER,

EASY TO USE CHORD COMPUTER. ALMOST A MANDATORY REQUIRED ACCESSORY FOR PLAY PIANO IN A FLASH COURSE. SO MUCH EASIER THAN LOOKING THROUGH PAGES AND PAGES OF CHORDS TO FIND CHORD YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. SO SMALL, YOU CAN PUT RIGHT ON PIANO WHILE YOU'RE PLAYING.

What a wonderful product. As a beginner, I was often stumped concerning the arrangement of a certain chord. I keep it right on top of the keyboard and I learn new chords fast with this quick lookup.

I'm more of a computer musician rather than an actual pianist. So, I really need the piano chords at hand as well as the scale of the keys since I do use a MIDI controller for my soundart projects. Easy to use and no manual needed. But the LCD screen is a bit small (you can still read it at a good distance, though) and a bit plasticky for my taste. But that's what you get for the affordable price. Simply put: just what I needed.

The Snarling Dog's Chord Computer is great! The only thing I would change is having the unit PLAY the sound of the chord you are choosing. Other than that, its a tremendous writing/learning tool. I have been a bassist for years and dabbled with keyboards, but lost my old Chord Computer, so this was a replacement unit. At this point, I have decided to go serioously into teaching myself to play piano fluently, which is why it was prime time to get a new unit. THANKS!

This Device (or one like it) should be at the top of every Keyboard Music Student's Wish List IMO. I wish I'd had one from Day 1. One Reviewer called it "Beginner's Bible", and it surely is.
The CC-1 is 3-1/2" x 5" x 3/4" Plastic Case in textured Silver Plastic. The display area is 2-7/8" wide by 1/2" high, and very easy to read (a least by me) even at Arm's length. You furnish 2 AA Batteries, & away you go. The brief, 4 x 6 inch printed Instructions are embedded within the rigid Plastic Product Packaging. The "Computer" is very easy to use and intuitive once you understand the simple sequence of steps. Results are instantaneous, and shown on the visual Keyboard "display". For New Students & followers of The Piano Guy (Piano In A Flash, etc.), this should be a Godsend. The "On" Button is the Snarling Dog graphic (IMO, a Music Note or softer symbol would be more inviting), but it works fine. It will take practice to be able to quickly get some Chord permutations, but it's fun trying to figure it out. However, to cope with Composers & Arrangers that thrive on Chord complexity, I'll still have to rely on my former Musical Chord "Bible". It is Mel Bay's Deluxe Encyclopedia of Piano Chords, by Bob Kroepel, Mel Bay Publications, 1973 (bought from Amazon previously). This 8-1/2" x 12" 95 Page Reference has it all, but is not anywhere near as easy or fast as the CC-1 -- I know because I have used it a LOT. And there are still lots of Lead Sheets that need "some" Translating. My one gripe is the Registration/Warranty Process. Was it written by a Snarling Lawyer? It is a bit contradictory & demanding. You must register (within 15 days & include a copy of your Sales Receipt) or you get no warranty. I might not make "the Cut". This looks like an excellent product, and the bit of attitude takes just a little of the "shine" off for me. But, it looks like a real Winner, and I suggest to other "musically-inclined" Folks that it's well worth checking out. |
