Because our babe was too narrow, the shoulder straps kept sliding off.

Great for transitioning from high chair to dining room table, or children's activity table.

Hello
Recently purchased 2 Snazzy Travel Chairs with the hope of using them for my 18 months old grandchildren in shopping carts. It is advertised to fit a baby/toddler/child up to 35 lbs.
The item is well made but it is SMALL......I cannot see how this device could fit any baby/toddler over 9--12 months old. Also, a toddler can easily take the shoulder straps off their shoulders and stand up.
This item should be targeted towards babies in the 6-9 month category.
If it was manufactured to be sized for an older child , and the shoulder straps more secure, it would be great.

We got this for a trip to grandma's, involving 2 flights, 3 different hotels, a rental car and 5 states... and what a huge help when we didn't have a highchair available. It is tiny when folded up in it's little bag (which is attached so it won't get lost, A+ to the super-human who thought of that) and easily fits into a diaper bag or large purse. It has fit on every chair we tried and keeps our 10 month old (who is BIG at 23 lbs) safe and happy. Wish we'd have gotten it sooner, when our "little" guy was smaller, would have been great in a shopping cart for that in-between time when they want to sit up and look around but aren't 100% stable sitting yet.

I purchased this to use on an international vacation where I knew there would be few highchairs to secure my 14mo old. I love the idea and compactness, but the bottom material does not have enough friction to prevent baby from sliding forward on 90% of chairs (as noted by several other reviewers). Every time we tried it, my son ended up sliding so far forward that his back was on the seat of the chair, or off to the side so that he almost fell off. Of course our supervision prevented any injury, but this harness was completely and utterly useless without constant intervention on our part. After numerous failed attempts, our son ate the rest of his meals in either our laps or his stroller.

I'm honestly stunned at all of the positive reviews and can only image that they are either paid reviews by the company or parents who only used this harness on upholstered chairs, where the chair itself provides some friction. It could work really well on chairs if you sewed a square of grippy shelf liner to the bottom, but this type of design flaw should be addressed by the manufacturer rather than consumers. I could see how this would work reasonably well in a shopping cart, though I don't see how it's that much better than the belt that is already provided (as long as your baby is able to sit independently).

Those parents who praise this items use for flights should be aware that the FAA and Transport Canada ban the use of "belly belts" that secure a lap infant to the parent. In the event of severe turbulence your child would serve as your own personal airbag -- a scary thought, and the reason why my son flies in his car seat. Why do European airlines insist on the use of "belly belts" during takeoff and landing?

I love this harness. We have an old fashioned wooden high chair and needed a safety harness so baby wouldn't slip. I looked everywhere online and this is the best harness I found. It is perfect and stays put and keeps my baby safe. The shoulder straps aren't perfect and can move around, but the waist belt gets the job done. Baby fits snuggly and safely in and isn't going anywhere. I imagine this is good for traveling to restaurants, etc as well. Maybe in a store grocery cart as well.

This item is not a replacement for a travel high chair AT ALL. It did keep my daughter against the chair back, but the bottom of it was not at all grippy or slip-resistant. She could easily lean to the side and cause the whole thing to slant diagonally. I would also not recommend using it without some sort of padding behind the baby's back and head, as babies generally lean forward to take a bite, and then she would bump the back of her head against the chair when going back to chew. I didnt try to use it to hold the baby hands-free. We are returning this item.

For those who fly with an infant in the lap, this is a must have. We started flying with our son in the lap using this travel seat at three months of age. It's a great way to keep your infant secured in the lap although it's not technically FAA approved. It saves your arms and shoulders from getting tired and your baby gets to stay facing forward in your lap. During takeoff and descent it leaves you hands free to give your baby a bottle to help pressurize their ears. It lets our son look around while people are boarding and it is comfortable enough for him to fall asleep in. We have gotten several compliments from flight attendants about the travel seat.

Contrary to another poster, we found the shoulder straps will stay fine if snugged down tight. If you are very concerned with the shoulder straps, a small piece of velcro or another buckle strap (a couple bucks at REI) looped through the shoulder straps and across the chest should do the trick.

The travel seat cleans up very easily and with diaper wipes in a pinch. You can just toss it in with your laundry too. It's light and compact. We often leave ours in the diaper bag. Great product.
