Book Description

March 1, 2000 Iron Brigade series
In the Iraqi Deserts of the 1990s, an American military scout sniper was always in deadly danger. Staff Sergeant "Clicker" Bell's team was dug-in and on duty when unexpected orders to assist in a rescue blew everything apart. Sniper One ranges from the Iraqi Deserts to the western mountains of the United States as the acts of war spill over into at least as deadly peacetime combats.

This is a tale of action and adventure and a reader will empathize with the fighters and comrades involved. If you enjoy weaponry, large-as-life heroism, gritty combat, and real men with men action, Sniper One will draw you and make you one with the world of military trained long-distance warriors.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read!, November 20, 2002

This review is from: Sniper One (Iron Brigade series) (Hardcover)
This piece of fiction is worth your time. It is written by one of the world's foremost authorities on military snipers and is the only technically accurate work of fiction about snipers I have ever come across. It is well written, and hard to put down. The characters are believable and likeable. It is a good companion piece to the author's non-fiction "One Shot Brotherhood"

4.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable... simply remarkable, August 23, 2001

This review is from: Sniper One (Iron Brigade series) (Hardcover)
I've read numerous novels and stories through my time, Fantasy would probably be my favorite, yet military titles are not unknown to me. I've also served in the U.S. Marine Corps for more than seven years now in jobs from Force Recon to Photo-Journalist and this book made me feel as if I was there. Right beside "Clicker" in climes and place that I myself have visited, without all the excitement of course. The one thing that struck me first was my inability to put the book down, I haven't felt that since high school when I went through Forgotten Realms' novels like a termite in a toothpick factory. Besides reading Sniper One at a racing pace, I could not miss the attention to detail and accuracy put into this book by an author that obviously wrote on firsthand experiences and had a wealth of "snipers" of quality at his disposal for information. Overall, Sniper One had me at the first few pages as I read about the "stalk" and then it never let me down until the book was finished. Guess I'll have to find another Chandler book to read. Oh darn.
