3.0 out of 5 stars cute show, bad recording January 7, 2000
By "wynde"
Format:Audio CD
i was really disapointed in the san francisco recording of this show. the voices are childish to the point of shrill and painful at times and my suggestion would be to invest in the london cast recording. 28 year olds won't ever sound like 10 year olds and they shouldn't try as hard as this cast did. also, the london cast recording has some extra songs that add a lot. despite this recording, the show is wonderfully fun and ranks right up there with You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not to sing an old tune but... July 25, 2004
By B
Format:Audio CD
I have to be boring and agree with nearly everyone else. These are not the best versions of the songs. I recently saw the Snoopy Musical in the New Players Theatre, Charing Cross, London and it blew me away. Yes, it's light humour and couldn't possibly be described as deep, but it is still thoroughly enjoyable. I would give the show 5/5 stars and the London singing 6/5 stars. This recording is amusing and has most of the best songs, but the singing isn't quite up to scratch (and isn't even "singing" in parts). Good, but sadly not great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pam Myers' sublime voice ! February 9, 2001
Format:Audio CD
Not only does this recording have brilliant and undiscovered melodies and lyrics, but it includes the amazing vocal talent of Pamela Myers who brings so much to her interpretations. A must for any lover of musical theatre.

2.0 out of 5 stars This Shouldn't Be Getting Good Revues January 2, 2007
By ~Amante
Format:Audio CD
All my revues are strictly from a listeners point of view, and this CD is not good from a listeners point of view. I haven't seen the show, and I feel other revues of this CD are based on having seen the show, which isn't fair. This CD isn't complete for one thing. The London cast, although I don't own it, nor have I ever listened to it, at least has the full score. But the main horror are the singers on this CD. They are just bad. People are turned off musical theater from CDs like this. I urge you not to buy this CD unless you are a collector, or have seen this show and want to hear a bad version. This is not for new listeners or even mature listeners looking for new musicals... this is not good. I don't know why people keep giving this CD more than three stars. The lyrics are decent, cute and funny, but the singing is unforgivable. Favorite song (only because I put one in every review): "Poor Sweet Baby"

4.0 out of 5 stars Hurrah for 'The Pup!' September 11, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Yes, I was in this show, too (not this production of it). I played "Lucy;" had to put a black rinse on my red hair (I think it was worth it). To get the entire original show/score, you must purchase both the British production AND the American production; because the American prodcution (in it's questionable wisdom) replaced "Friends" with a totally unimpressive and utterly forgettable song.
So, to get a recording with "Friends" (Act I Finale), you need both CDs, since the American cast is actually better than the British, even if the director had less perfect taste. So I naturally bought them both. Both were sold at really good prices, so what's to loose? And, truly, this show is better than "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," because the music is so much better. Otherwise the formats are the same - all taken right from the comic strip. If you get a chance to see a production, I recommend that you verify that the cast is wearing "authentic" costumes... It took me WEEKS to get my hair back to natural!

3.0 out of 5 stars Get the London recording June 1, 2002
By Jason
Format:Audio CD
Please see my review for the London recording. Basically, the singing on this CD is of far inferior quality, and many songs are missing from this soundtrack. I do recommend purchasing the Snoopy!!! Musical CD with all my heart.. just not this version.

5.0 out of 5 stars Snoopy!!! is a great CD and musical! August 9, 1999
Format:Audio CD
I just performed as Charlie Brown in Snoopy!!! and love the CD. The whole CD is very upbeat and is great to listen to. I would recommend it to any Peanuts fan who has seen the show.

This isn't the syrupy version of Charlie Brown cartoons you are used to. The performers in this show do a wonderful rendition of many of the great songs of the show including "Edgar Allen Poe" and "Clouds." The kids in my son's acting class are crazy about this and play it all the time.
See the musical if you get a chance too.

I got to see a one day benefit with Sutton Foster, Hunter Foster, ANn Harada, Christian Borle, Jennifer Cody and Deven May. That cast far outclasses this one AND the London one. Read more

As a theatre teacher, I have both versions of Snoopy! I recommend the London Version because there are more songs on the recording that are now in the show. Read more
