I use an iPhone app to record snoring activity over night. It tells me start time, end time, duration, "snoring time," "relative snoring time" (as a %), average noise, threshold level, threshold crossings. It works quite well. The phone is on the nightstand next to me (it's on airplane mode, so no RF, no beeps or calls), same place each time. The app also produces a chart, the sort that might remind you of seismic waves (appropriately, I guess) for the night.

The app has been an eye-opener because I almost never hear myself, or wake myself up. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for loved ones. So...

I used this product for the first time last night and I was very eager too see how much improvement there was. I wore it correctly, per the picture and it was still on in the morning. By the way, wearing it was only mildly uncomfortable, which is about what I expected. There is also a chemical smell when it is removed from the bag, but I got used to it and it seems to be subsiding. Less relevant but the color is just awful. Looks fine on the guy wearing a black turtleneck (no accident) but without the color coordinated jammies, it looks like a bicycle tube around your head.

But how does it work? I expected I would not snore at all, maybe a bit, but with my mouth closed (jaw relaxed, lips together), problem solved, right? So I checked the app this morning to see if I'd snored at all last night..

It was worse. Not a little worse. It DOUBLED, or more, the total snoring time. Noise level was higher. Threshold (minimum sound level to be counted as snoring) was broken over twice as many times, compared to the typical bad night. According to the chart, there were very few times through the night that I did NOT snore. This is much different from the usual chart which might show periods of normal breathing interrupted by periods of snoring that might last 45 to 90 minutes.

I will try this product one more night to see if the results change, but if nothing changes, the results tell me this thing makes MY snoring worse, or causes it outright. Your results may vary, of course.

I do not suffer from apnea by the way. Sleep study verified that. It's just noise, for now. But this has been very disappointing. I really wanted it to work.

---

Follow up - tried it again for a 2nd night. I found it much more uncomfortable, though bearable, this time around. It seemed tighter somehow and a few hours after going to bed I pulled it off. When I checked the app chart the next morning, I actually IMPROVED considerably, though far from silent, after removing it.

This is not a terrible product, if it works for others. But it seems from other comments that it can treat a certain type of breathing issue - unfortunately not mine. I have returned it.

Amazon's return/refund was as effortless as it could be (I do have Prime, maybe that helps).

I bought this for my flatmate who has breathing difficulties, I have tried to get him to try all sorts of things but they're usually quiet expensive or ineffective. The snoring is so severe and I can usually hear it from my room. At first he was reluctant to use it and it was a bit different just because of past experiences but I am glad to say the product works! We have both have enjoyed peaceful sleep this week.
Definitely suggest that you give this a go if snoring is affecting your life. It makes a real difference.

So I'm an almost 30 guy who is now a little overweight and I do have sleep apnea. However even when I was thin and 19, I still had sleep apnea. My wife has said that I've been becoming increasingly worse and since we're about to go on a camping trip and sleep in close quarters with friends, I was looking for something that wouldn't keep the cabin awake.

I tried this product by itself and would give in 3 stars. While it didn't stop me from snoring my wife said that it did prevent me from stopping breathing during the night and made my snoring less audible and more consistent. So that's good enough for 3 stars, it did help me sleep better, not stop breathing, but I still snored.

I went a step further and tried the "Serenity Sleep Aid Custom Night Mouth Guard". Really this is just like any high quality top/bottom sports mouth guard. Also the price for that product is on par with anything I've seen at sporting stores, so grabbing one from Amazon may make sense for you.

Anyways the mouth gaurd is designed for people with an overbight (which I do have a pretty significant one). The mouth guard forces your bottom teeth forward opening your air passage. Really I never noticed this in 30 years of breathing, but it may explain why even when I was fit, I never could take very deep breaths in sports. So I go to try that by its self, and it works one night, but half way through the second night I end up spitting the mouth guard out and I'm back to my old snoring.

So finally, with a combination of the 2 products, the mouth guard to open up my breathing passage, and then the chin strap to keep my mouth from opening and subsequently lock everything the guard in place, I was able to go snore free for almost the entire night. And I guess even then the snores were very quiet and evenly spaced.

For me it was worth the $50 bucks I spent for both products, but as always your results may vary.

My wife has urged me to do something about by “Monstrous” snoring, or she would file for divorce! : ) She noticed that my mouth falls open every night and that’s when the snoring starts. I have researched the web for most effective “open mouth” snoring solutions and decided to try stop snoring jaw strap. The snoring was gone the first night that I tried it! It took about a week to get 100% comfortable with wearing the strap, and not it feels like I have always been sleeping with it… I don’t even notice it. Very happy with the results… and I just bought another one for a friend of mine!

I have used this for four nights, and I haven't snored at all. I can only snore with my mouth open, and this keeps my mouth closed. If you can snore with your mouth closed, this won't help. My husband said it makes me look like Abraham Lincoln, but it's worth it, because we both sleep through the night.

It's pretty comfortable, but a little warm. It fits snugly, but it doesn't interfere with my sleep.

I'm a little chubby and this is a little tight, but it helps. My dogs are petrified of me in the thing, I consider that a bonus!

So disappointed! Did not help at all. Looks quite stupid too, but if it worked, I would wear it. What a waste!

Fyi, I bought a mouthpiece previously (puresleep maybe?) that shifted my jaw forward and it worked beautifully, Unfortunately, I have caps on lower molars and the pulling forward via the teeth loosened them a bit so I am scared to wear this mouthpiece. I was looking for something different. This item is NOT it. Came with a brochure talking about eating right, weight loss, vitamins, etc. to help stop snoring too.

strap fits good when you adjust it, it takes a couple of days to get used to it. helps to keep mouth closed to lower the snoring. I give it a 4 star because customer service is great for this product and they help you out with any questions.
