I love this show when I first seen it, It only goes to show that we can do most anything possible. The actors showed us the insight of their ordeal and very moving story well played by Neil Patrick Harris. More true life stories and survival are a must to give everyone hope if they are in trouble and courage as protrayed in this movie as these people were Thank You for this movie as it is a credit by the director and performace by the actors

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating tale of survival!, January 19, 2012

This story is AMAZING! The quality of the DVD was great! The only minor negative thing I'll say about this movie, is the theme song which is heard all throughout the movie. Sweet but gushy! Not my forte! Neil Patrick Harris is a multi-talented entertainer, maybe a tadbit under-appreciated in his field. Kelli Williams is equally as talented (whatever happened to her?) What these people went through being stranded in the FREEZING snow and a place called Hell Creek is horrifying and as the audience, you are right there with them, feeling your feet tingle with frost to the point of inevitable frostbite. You feel the fear and helplessness of this family which includes a baby. They came unprepared, yes, and maybe that was foolish oversight especially for 2 people in the army. But their determination to survive makes up for all that. Jim Stolpa is a real life man that went through hell in heroic pursuit to save his family by walking 50 miles to civilization. He ultimately collapsed with a sad ending...Highly recommend this movie for anyone that hasn't seen it. It's good enough to buy even without seeing it first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Snow Bound, June 8, 2006
This review is from: Snow Bound (DVD)
I thought that, as far as true stories go, this was one of the best. How much you feel what Jim and Jennifer felt towards each other. Here you have two young people, newly married with a newborn infant, who are so much in love. Jim is in the army and barely makes ends meet when catastrophy strikes. His grandmother dies in Idaho. Jim takes leave, they borrow Jennifer's brother's truck and head up into the mountains to attend the funeral. But, they get detoured and end up stranded in the wild life preserve for 10 days. They see their baby dieing before their eyes and feel hopeless. Jim, seeing they have no time left, leaves his wife and child in a cave and attempts to walk the 80 miles to get help. How nice it is to see just how many miles love can take you. Very good tv movie!!!!
