Before finally settling on a cookset/stove setup (for one-two people), I purchased & field tested the following stoves: (01) Jetboil Zip, (02) MSR Pocket Rocket, (03) Snow Peak Giga Power & (04) Snow Peak LiteMax. And w/ out a doubt, the SP LiteMax clearly out performed the rest (I paired it w/ a GSI Minimalist cookset). I chose this stove over the other three for several reason's. One is was the 2nd most fuel efficient stove (46M burntime off of 100grams of fuel). The only stove that came even close was the Jetboil, but their listed burntime of 60Ms was manufacturer specs only, vs. REI tested. Two it puts out the most heat (11,200BTU's). And three it is the lightest/smallest of them all (including the height when mounted on a fuel canister). I'm sure there were many other reason's in choosing this stove, but the above three were the main deciding factors. And to top it all off, it fits perfectly inside the GSI Minimalist cookset, and it is suprisingly built like a rock!

Ive used this stove on many hikes and I cant find an equivalent to it. Lightweight, boils water fast, simmers well and so small. Stop looking at other stoves and just get this one. Its unreal how small and powerful it is.

I like that this light weight stove has sturdy arms with notches to assist pot sturdiness. The valve handle is also metal rather than wire. It is a nice piece of craftsmanship.
