I had one of these boards years ago, and I gave it away when I stopped baking bread. When I rekindled my old hobby, I desperately wanted one of these beautiful boards again. It is the same quality as my old Snow River board and is just as sturdy and well made. However, the wood was very dry when it arrived and the sides of the board needed to be sanded, as they were very rough. After the initial "touch ups," it is looking great and was able to be put into service immediately.

If you make homemade bread, you'll love this board. If you just do a lot of vegetable chopping, it works fantastically for that as well. But if you do both, get two boards (to avoid cross-contamination of flavors). It's an heirloom purchase that, with good care, should last several generations!

This board is perfect for kneading, stretching/folding, and shaping bread dough. Wood has been my preferred medium because it's warmer than a kitchen counter top. The size of the board makes it perfect for shaping baguettes. While the front lip is helpful in keeping the board in place, it still did move around a bit on my slippery counter. Placing a non-skid rug pad remnant under the board completely secured it. Best of all, it's made in the USA.

Much better than the largest cutting board for meats it sits right on the counter top and doesn't roll away when you work the dough with your pin. Plenty of space and if used exclusively for pie and pasta things they will not pick up the taste of other things that touched the boarb. A satisfying puchase in a size that is just right when rolling out 12" pies with room for rolling pin handle to travel in all directions over the dough. Somethinmg wanted for a long time that is really nice.

I ordered this board on the Friday after Thanksgiving and received it the next Tuesday! Not only was the delivery remarkable but so is this board. Heavy and well built. We have a small chest freezer in our kitchen and this board fits the top making another work surface. I have one complaint but it will not change my rating. I wish there were instructions on how to prepare the board prior to using it for the first time. I went online and got some general instructions not knowing if they will be the best thing to do. Went to the Snow River's website but it is lacking in specifics.

This board is what I hoped it would be -- solid construction, good size for the counter and perfect for rolling out dough. Has a nice lip on the bottom to prevent skidding across the counter when kneading dough.

This is a great bread board. The built-in back splash keeps my messy kneading to a minimum and the flour stays where put. I'm giving this board 5 stars because my only complaint is my mistake: I had no idea how big this board would be. The company is good about posting measurements and the reviews mention that it is big, but still . . . I always measure for pieces of furniture, but I didn't measure for this board. I have an average sized kitchen and was lucky to have a counter top that I could dedicate to this board. This board coupled with a GelPro Floor Mat makes a nice spot in my kitchen which is perfect for kneading bread.

So, purchase this board because it's a great addition to your bread making tools, but be aware of its size. Also, because of its size, cleaning the board does take a little more effort. When bread baking, I usually pick a certain day and bake all day, leaving the board until my final use of it for that day, then cleaning it. Between bread making, I cover the board with a large flour sack towel. I don't use this board for anything else besides bread or pastry. I hope to get many years of use out of it. Wonderful craftsmanship.

Pretty good pastry board, but there is a drawback, its the screws. There should be "NO" screws, they will rust if in contact with water. That is why only four stars.

We got this as a gift for our Daughter. She loves it and uses it anytime she is cooking. Fits the granite countertop nicely and is easy to clean.
