5.0 out of 5 stars Best Mittens Ever
I went to the snowstopper website and found measurements to take for these mittens, so I knew they would fit my 3-year-old's hands. Indeed, they are a perfect, snug fit, which is what I wanted so she can pick things up without a lot of extra mitten getting in the way. I also ordered the next size up, just to be sure, and they were too big (as they're supposed to be) so...

3.0 out of 5 stars x-small size does not have thumbs
We ordered an x-small size in these mittens for our 18-month-old son. When we got them we discovered that there were no thumbs, and had to return them. They seem to be good quality and were very soft inside, but what kid can play in the snow if they don't have opposable thumbs! We are going to order the small and hopefully they will have thumbs and not be too big on him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Mittens Ever, February 24, 2011

I went to the snowstopper website and found measurements to take for these mittens, so I knew they would fit my 3-year-old's hands. Indeed, they are a perfect, snug fit, which is what I wanted so she can pick things up without a lot of extra mitten getting in the way. I also ordered the next size up, just to be sure, and they were too big (as they're supposed to be) so I'll save them for next year.

We live in a very cold, snowy climate, and my daughter used to be able to stay outside only about 10 minutes because her hands would be freezing. All our other mittens were either too thin or kept coming off or weren't waterproof. The first time we used these mittens, she stayed out for an hour! I finally get to go outside! And they didn't fall off once! They are waterproof, but the material is so soft that she can still use her hands. Most waterproof mittens are stiff and bulky. Plus there's a grippy part on the palm. The 'sock' part that goes up the arm is also soft and cozy.

They are maybe slightly harder to put on than other mittens, but not much. Now that my daughter knows how much she loves them, she's extra willing to cooperate too! I just tell her to hold her thumb out so I can nudge it into the thumb hole. Bottom line is these mittens are amazing! The price is a steal! They will change your outdoor experiece completely from a constant cold struggle into warm, carefree fun. I love them. If you want to measure, here is their size chart:

Mitten measurements from fingertip to wrist are as follows:

Xtra Small 4"

Small 4-1/2"

Medium 5"

Large 5-1/2"

These measuring instructions were exactly right for us. Just as a side note, I found the pink to be less vibrant than it appeared on my monitor, but honestly they could be any color and I'd love them because of now perfectly they work! Still a nice pink color.

1.0 out of 5 stars It is almost can't put them on the hands, January 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I almost can't put them on my daughter's hands. My daughter is 2 year old. I bought a pair of 1-3 year old one. She doesn't have a fat hands. It was just too tight to put them on. I gave it up to use them. It is totally waste your money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Right idea - still not perfect, January 13, 2010

The idea is a good one, and it should work, but very hard to use effectively with a little toddler. And, good luck getting an 18 month old thumb into that little hole. L-Bow mittens seem much better to me. They have a cuff on the outside that goes way up the arm, and one big thumb hole in the middle so there is no left/right. While this central thumb may adversely effect dexterity, it seems way better to me since my daughter finally has a thumb in her mittens; we've just lost her thumb completely in every other mitten we've tried.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not sized correctly, December 30, 2010

These mittens look quite warm and will definately stop the snow from going up the coat arms, BUT they are NOT for a 4-7 year old. My kids are average sized kids and these mittens are even too small for my 4 year old. My kids could barely squeeze their hand in and their palms went down near the bottom of the mitten part. They would probably have fit my kids when they were 3.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but need right coat, January 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought these for my 20 month old. They are great except her Old Navy puffer jacket is too tight around the wrist to accommodate the gloves. I have to put them on over the coat which looks funny. Next year I will be sure to buy a coat with a zip sleeve or something. The gloves are great, though and will definitely last til she is 3.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Mittens but hard to get on, January 21, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are great mittens once you get them on your little one. Hint: put them on before the jacket then the jacket. These mittens are totally water proof, as long as you put them on before the jacket.

The reason why I only rate these mittens 3 stars is because of the difficulty to get these on your wiggly Toddler!!

I give it a Five stars for durability - waterproof

5.0 out of 5 stars snow stopper mittens, January 13, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am very pleased with these mittens. My 5 and 7 year old used to complain of very cold wrists, but not this winter. I must make a note on the sizing... I purchased a large for both of my children. The large fits my 5 year old great. The large just fits my 7 year old - my daughter is petite. So keep that in mind when ordering sizes.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best ideas ever!, January 23, 2011

These mittens are absolutely perfect! I was so frustrated with snow getting up my son's gloves that I was ready to sew a pair to a long sleeve shirt. This is a much better idea! My son is 3 and they fit him well - they extend all the way to his elbow. Once on his hand, the wrist strap tightens for the perfect fit, and prevents them from slipping. It can be a little more challenging to get his jacket on over the top of the mittens, but well worth it. With these gloves, he spent half a day out in the snow with not one complaint! With our long winters here in WNY, they will get a lot of use!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gloves!, December 30, 2010

These are better than what I expected. The elbow length lining is a great concept and that's why I bought it. But what I could not see from the picture is that the gloves have very soft lining inside and the palm side is covered with non-slip rubber-like material to improve grip. Haven't tried it yet in the snow, but can't wait for it to fall so that we can go out and play!
