Snowboard Showdown Out-of-control competition leads to disaster When Freddie Ruiz and his brother, Dondi, compete, it's like two mutts wrestling over the same bone-neither one is willing to give an inch. Unfortunately for Freddie, older, stronger, better-looking Dondi usually comes out on top in every contest. Except in one area: snowboarding. Here, Freddie is clearly king of the halfpipe. So when Dondi finally pushes Freddie too far, Freddie cooks up a snowboard showdown to make Dondi look foolish and himself the star. But will Dondi take the bait, or will he somehow turn the tables on his brother yet again?

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Snowboard Showdown: Out-of Control Competition Leads to Disaster (Matt Christopher Sports Classics) (Paperback)
Freddie and his big brother, Donavon, are always competing becouse they want to be better than the other one. Donavon dares Freddie to go down a slope that only 2 people have gone down without getting hurt. Freddie goes does on his snowboard. You won't be able to put down this book. It is exciting when Freddie sets up a snowboarding tournament. It is a story of frienship, brotherhoo, and competition. It is really good.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Snowboard Showdown: Out-of Control Competition Leads to Disaster (Matt Christopher Sports Classics) (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book because I learned a good lesson from it. How you shouldn't break a promise, the one Freddie made to his dad. He got what he wanted in the end by doing the right thing. I would recommend this book a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A non-stop snowboarding book with action!, March 17, 2000

This review is from: Snowboard Showdown: Out-of Control Competition Leads to Disaster (Matt Christopher Sports Classics) (Paperback)
This is a great book for enjoyment reading. Once I started I couldn't stop and I finished in one night! I really liked this book because I love snowboarding, but you don't have to like snowboarding to enjoy this book. It has a mix of brothership and sportsmanship that is emense with action. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a joy for reading and to snowboarders who needs to learn new tricks.
