Even though some of the tracks in this CD are good, I am not very pleased with this work of Yanni. This CD is really a far cry from Yanni's Live at Acropolis, If I could tell you, In My time. So, if you are experimenting Yanni, try to get another one...you have to try Yanni at his best, and this CD is not it. For the devoted fan, I think this will still muster a 4 star rating. so, in short, good addition to a Yanni collection if you are a devoted fan. else, try another one of Yanni and you will become a devotee!

Yanni Snowfall - good but you may have these songs,
This review is from: Snowfall (Audio CD)
This album has some great music. However you should be aware that one reason the music is so great is because many of the tracks come from one of Yanni's best albums to date: Reflections of Passion. Four out of the 10 tracks on SnowFall come from the Reflections of Passion album. Both are good albums but Reflections is just super Yanni music. So, if you don't mind buying an album that has 4 songs already in your collection (assuming you have Reflections of Passion already) then you will enjoy the new songs included in the compilation. For a first collection though (if you currently have neither), I would recommend Reflections of Passion. Ok, so the music on SnowFall definitely has some thematic relevance to the subject. In particular Only a Memory is evocative of a lazy afternoon sipping coffee and just watching the snow fall in the yard. It is lilting with a bit of an Asian tinge to it. One Man's Dream has some beautiful (Yanni typical) arpeggios and will lull you off to sleep if you are comfortably relaxing while listening to this tune. You can envision yourself flying along in the breeze with the snowflakes; tumbling and drifting over hill and dale. It is beautiful. In the Morning Light has some great dynamic range and beautifully demonstrates the capabilities of the piano to carry both the treble and bass clefts with incredible harmony and expression. I can't say that I personally understand how True Nature is intended to fit into a "snow" theme but it is a nice song - it just doesn't seem to fit here in this compilation. Again this song comes from the Reflections of Passion album. I will enjoy this album. You probably will too. I just would have liked it more if there had been fewer tracks that were already in my collection due to an already well heralded and excellent album - Reflections of Passion. Either album shows that Yanni is a master of relaxation and emotionally stimulating music and captures the exquisite expression of his own soul through the piano.

Yanni has to be one of the greatest artists that I have ever heard of. His music is so relaxing and soothing. After hearing him for the first time, I haven't stopped buying or listening to his music
