I actually had the pleasure of meeting the author of this wonderful book! She was an amazing and talented woman--and she gave me a signed copy of this novel. I am an avid reader and collector of books, especially science fiction. But rarely have I read such a beautiful story as the Snowlost! It really draws you in. The story is told from several different viewpoints and over a large span of time and this time the humans are the aliens. It's such a well-written story that it's hard to put into words why I love it so much. There is a sense of lonliness, as the title suggests. There is a sense, too, of belonging and joining. It shows the flaws and beauty of humanity very honestly--up to a very startling (even disturbing) finale. Read it! You will see what I'm talking about!
