The picture is misleading!!!,
This review is from: Snug Fit Bed Rail (Toy)
I just have to say something. I am in the market for a bed rail that can be used with a bunk bed. I saw this picture and thought this may be one, because the picture doesn't have a box spring with the mattress. But then I read in the description the severe warning about not using with a bunk bed or ANY MATTRESS WITHOUT A BOX SPRING! Huh???? Change the picture!

This was such a headache. It does not stay locked. It is not safe at all! Returned it to the store right away. I do not recommend this product at all! Not even to my worst enemy!

Total piece of JUNK! 1 Star is too high a rating!,

Whoever designed this thing obviously does not have children. I would give it 0 stars if that were an option. The frame on the bed rail has exposed hard plastic pieces. Additionally, the steel tube/rails are covered only with a thin piece of nylon. Does anyone at Safety 1st realize that kids roll around while sleeping?!?!? This means that they will inevitably hit the bed rails, often with their heads. Without any soft padding, that means they will 1) wake themselves up, and/or 2) hurt themselves. Also, the rail is at least 6 inches too short and 3 inches too low to be of real value. Safety 1st really needs to fire the moron who designed this useless thing.

I have to disagree with bad reviews,

We have found this bed rail to be perfectly safe and useful with our son's twin-sized bed. It uses a pressure gauge to determine a safe amount of compression where nothing (not a leg, arm, neck) can get under it and the mattress. As a result, it is held very firmly in place, even on different depth mattresses. It is very easy to remove for sheet changes, which is a bonus given that we're not out of diapers yet... I think some of the other reviewers need to use some common sense -- don't use it with a toddler bed because a crib-type mattress (which one uses with a toddler bed) is not as deep as a standard mattress, for which this rail was designed.

Poor Bed Rail,

I bought this bed rail for my 2 year old son a while back and it was a major headache to make it lock. It would snap "unlock" all the time. It has worked but I have not touched it at all and left it in the locked position. I am now searching for another bed rail for another bed and I am NOT going to buy another one like this one. Very poor locking system and can be moved easily when the child is asleep and tossing around.

continually breaking!,

This is a good bed rail if you never intend to put it in the down position. I have bought 2 of them, and they have both broken! Each time, it happened when I was trying to put the rail in the down position (because we had company, and they were going to sleep in my son's bed and the bed rail was in the way). It's fine if you never want to put it down, but other than that, it's not good at all! Ughhh....a pain!

I Have No Problem,

I'm reading everyone review and I see that they all hate this bed rail. but I have no problem with this bed rail. I actually read the review about the other safey 1 bed rail (sure position-n-lock bedrail)and I told myself I wouldn't get it cause the review was bad. but when I when to the store yesterday to buy a bed rail, they just had two kinds this one (which I taught was the sure position-n-lock. now I see its not)and another which I didn't like. so I pick this one with the intention that I might have to return it. I put it together, the two screw were a little hard to screw in. but after that everything was fine. its very easy to put on the (full size) bed and to pull up and put back down, and it has a VERY STRONG GRIP on the bed. which I think is the best because that means it won't move and it didn't. I play around with it some to see if it would fall apart and it hasn't. so for me I think this is the perfect and the best kind of bed rail you would want to keep your child safe because it grips onto the bed.

I used this with a toddler bed anyway....,
This review is from: Snug Fit Bed Rail (Toy)
This is the only rail that is short enough to use with a toddler bed and still leave a small opening for my daughter to climb out on her own. It was against the directions, but I felt it to be safe, and never had any saftey problems AT ALL. Although the rail DOES make the bed narrower, it is certainly tall enough to prevent my daughter from falling out of the bed. I don't even see the purpose to have one any taller....may as well use a crib if you want this rail to prevent your child from climbing out. It is very secure and very safe. I don't know what the other people were talking about when they said that it "unlocked" This has never happened to me and I had it9 months. My daughter is now in a twin size bed and I'm still using this rail since it is small and white, not blue and ugly like the other ones on the market. My main complaint is that it does not fold down, so you have to remove it to make the bed.

Junk,

I just bought this today and it is going right back to the store. I cannot get it to lock in the "lock" position and each time I press on the top it slides down. Not too safe if it is my child leaning on it. Also it says not to use on a toddler bed, which is exactly what I bought it for, because HELLO!!! the picture shows it being used with a toddler bed. It wasn't until I put it all together and saw the warning that I realized I should not be using it on a toddler bed. So back to the store it goes!!!
