The silicon case is well constructed and protects my camera very well. The descriptions says it is works for Canon Powershot SD850IS. The camera fits inside but the case doesn't match the button layout on my camera. As a result, it is difficult to use my camera when it is inside the protective case. It seems that the case is actually for a similar model with the buttons located differently.

I live on the Oregon Coast, and within a few months of buying it, my Canon SD900 camera was in the shop twice because of the dreaded "lens error" message. Both times, sand had gotten into the lens mechanism, causing it to stop functioning altogether. That is not an inexpensive repair, and also left me without my camera for several weeks at a time (mostly the shipping time to and from Canon). Short of buying another camera, something I couldn't afford to do, I started looking for ways to protect the camera while still being about to take it with me to the beach almost daily in a jacket pocket. I decided to order a Canon carrying case for the camera and a Delkin Camera Skin. They came at the same time, so I unfortunately tried them together and ripped the camera skin the first time I put it in the case. The carrying case is a tight fit, so DON'T use these two items together! The rip was on the bottom of the skin, so I was able to use it for about a year. For a little extra protection, I also put the camera in a zip-lock bag when it's in my pocket, and have had no problems with it since. I have since replaced the torn Camera Skin with a new one, and swear by these handy protective devices. As the picture shows, the skin closes down over the lens mechanism and then opens up when you are ready to shoot. All functions of the camera are usable with the skin on the camera, so there isn't much reason to take it off. The mode selection dial on the back is a little hard to see with the skin on, but it doesn't take long to know where the functions are. The Snug-It is a very inexpensive protective covering for your camera, and I won't ever take my camera to the beach again without it!
