Gives me peace of mind.

This monitor helps me have some comfort, because I know that the alarm will sound loudly if he stops breathing for any reason.

From time to time we get a false alarm because it falls from the diaper but it never happened during the night.

I do not usually write product reviews, good or bad, even if Amazon is the place we primarly buy ... well everything.
However I feel the need to write here to say how much buying this product has been the best decision we made. This morning my son stopped breathing in his sleep while both of us were asleep. The snuza alarm went off and woke us up instantly - we were both a the crib instantly. The baby was not breathing, he probably went into deep sleep - we managed to quickly wake him up and all is fine... but I am so grateful for the Snuza. It's priceless to us. I don't even want to think about what could have happend if we did not have it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Snuza for watching our son.

I'm a physician and I asked several of my pediatrician friends what they thought about movement monitors and pretty much got a neutral response from everyone.

My husband and I were looking for a video/audio monitor and came across Angelcare and purchased that for her crib.

However, when she got sick with a cold and we needed to have her sleeping upright, we had a dilemma since the movement monitor wasn't portable. My husband actually came across Snuza because it was portable and we decided to go ahead and purchase it despite my daughter not having any of the risk factors for SIDs.

Thank goodness we did. Since purchasing it, it has gone off twice, and neither occasion was it a false alarm. It was actually the night before she got sick both times. I believe she had so much drainage that she wasn't able to clear and she had a respiratory pause. After the first time (which occurred because the Snuza was still on despite her being in her crib because we didn't want to undo the swaddle) we use the Snuza at night as well.

Both times the Snuza went off before the Angelcare. We never had a false alarm with the Angelcare. The Snuza does have false alarms if it comes off the diaper, but this has only happened like 2-4 times and it is during the day when she is active.

Since both alarms, I send the Snuza with her to daycare. No one knows what causes SIDs, but both times, the Snuza went off when she was alseep and was when she got sick overnight and congested. Pretty much she went to sleep fine and woke up sick so there was no way as a parent I would have known to be on alert. However, after both times I suctioned her out and had her sleep sitting up without any more alarms.

My son has worn this every night since he was about two months (he is now 5 months old). Anyways, I forgot to put it on him tonight and in an afterthought I unbuttoned his pajamas and clipped it to his diaper. After I fell asleep, I heard it vibrate which is the warning sign to "wake the baby up" before the alarm goes off. I thought it was a fluke (although it has never happened before) and I took it off and repositioned it so it was snug. Fast forward to 4:30 am -- I am in a dead sleep when I hear an alarm. I first think it's my alarm clock but I quickly realize what it actually was. I yelled out my sons name twice right in front if him, no response. I then begin to shake him at his belly twice in a fast paced motion... No response and I couldn't detect any breathing, then FINALLY (it was probably a total of 10 seconds after the alarm -but it felt like an eternity to me) a BREATH (it was almost a gasp) -- the most lovely breath I have ever felt and heard since the time he was born. I then fell apart just bawling and shaking and thanking God for letting me keep my son. A son that has changed my life in every amazing way possible. I'm not sure if he would've started breathing again on his own or not, but I am thankful for the Snuza tonight as well just so I know it happened and I can go get a thorough examination performed on him tomorrow. What a way to wake up, I feel exhausted, yet I know I won't sleep. :(. But yes, sorry I got into a rant, but moral of this story: I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this product!!

My daughter's pediatrician recommends the Snuza Go monitor to all of his patients' families because of the research he did after a four month old in his practice passed away from SIDS. We did some of our own research and felt more comfortable paying a little extra for the Hero and we are VERY satisfied.

The monitor is about three inches long and slides onto our daughter's diaper or pants. We use both disposable diapers and Flips cloth diapers and the Snuza Hero fits on both with some modifications. The top of the disposable diaper needs to be folded down to ensure there is enough material for the monitor to attach to (stated in the instruction manual). I do not feel comfortable using the thicker cotton pre-fold inserts with the monitor because it feels like it stretches the clip to its max.

Both the vibration and alarm work great. They have both gone off a few times, but luckily they have been false alarms from the monitor getting knocked off while moving my daughter around (from my chest to the bed) and my daughter lying very still on my wife while breastfeeding. We tested the alarm with our baby video monitor and found that it is loud enough that we could probably hear it in our room without the video monitor.

The company touts the Go as the monitor to use if you want to travel, but because the Hero is just as small and comes with its own case, we have not had any troubles when we go out of town.

In the end, the extra settings (a tick for each time the baby moves, no multiple attempts at vibration before the alarm goes off, etc.) and the peace of mind make my recommendation for the Hero a no-brainer.
