I bought this book to keep our 18-month-old busy during a roadtrip. She LOVES Elmo and was not disappointed by this book. The story is very simple, and the illustrations are very bright and engaging. The only down-side is that the pop-up of Elmo at the end of the book tears pretty easily. I would recommend this book for toddlers and preschoolers. Keep in mind, though that you may want to keep an eye on your little one when reading it so the book doesn't get ruined.

My son is 6 months old and this is his favorite book by far. He likes all the books I read to him, but when he sees this book he gets really excited. He kicks his feet, smiles and "talks" to the pictures and reaches out to touch them. He has a lot of books, but this is the only book that he gets this excited about. If I bring out a stack of books to read to him, he reaches for this one above the others. He especially likes the last page with the pop-up. The images on the pages are very big and simple, and each page is a different color. I think that's why he likes it so much. Other books have too many pictures on the pages and the colors are not as bright and bold. I think the big simple pictures and bright bold colors are more interesting for babies of my son's age. I'm going to buy some other books in the Sesame Beginnings series since he likes this one so much. I even went out and bought him a little Elmo doll so he can hold it while we read his favorite book! He loves it!

Elmo So Big is a wonderful first book. Both of my two kids loved it starting around 6 months of age to about 18 months. The book portrays simple everyday activities and motions that the baby or toddler can relate to and imitate. I also believe my kids loved the book so much because of the color scheme-simple with a lot of contrast. While kids lose interest in the book beyond 2 years old, it is still worth having for the early smiles, giggles and learning.

I know this is a book for babies - but it is one of the stupidest books I've had to read to my kids. There are much better written, more interesting books that are engaging for both small children and their parents.

My baby is only 3.5 months but he LOVES this book. Actually if I just say "look, it's Elmo" and show him the cover he smiles... he looks really attentively at the pictures and sometimes I make the pop-up Elmo at the back "dance" for him and he enjoys it too. I currently take this book everywhere because it's perfect to distract him when he looks like he's about to cry when we are out/in the car/etc. The pictures are big, bright and simple and perfect for small babies.

Our 1-year-old loves this book, especially the pop-up Elmo at the end (who we often have give her a kiss on the nose after he pops up). Lots of fun.

I really bought 2 of these books, mainly because my daughter loved it so much the hands on elmo at the end ripped. Bottom line, this book is great for our one year old and I think all kids would love it. Very colorful and fun!

This my daughters favorite book. The pop up Elmo at the end of the book is made of paper, so I don't let her play with the book. Other than that, She LOVES this book!!!!

My daughter loves this book. We bought it when she was about 5 months old and it's still a regular in our rotation (she's 7 months now). The pages are bright colors and Elmo himself, being red is very good at holding a baby's attention. Daughter especially loves at the end when Elmo pops out. From reading reviews when I purchased the book, I don't let her touch the Elmo that pops out, so we won't have the issue of him ripping. Great buy, I'm about to go search for more sesame beginning books to add to our library.
