One Of The Best Christian Rock Albums Ever!!!,

This album is definitely one of the best Christian Rock albums of all time. A mixture of progressive rock, as well as even somewhat of an 80's new-wave rock sound, though a sound all their own. I stumbled across this group one Saturday evening while I was watching Spirit Music Television. After watching the video to the song, "I Don't Know", I was hooked! It's a shame that they are no longer together because I truly believe they would have gone far. If you still are able to buy this album, I highly recommend it!

i wasn't expecting this cd to be so great! from the moment the music started w/ the batman-sounding intro to my favorite, "distracted" i didn't get bored the whole time... i've been listening non-stop and i recommend this cd to anyone who likes modern pop/electronic/rock. it's awesome!

This album has broken the traditional Christian musical stereotype with its innovative style and sound. It moves from sultry beats to techno bubblegum, then slides off to electro-pop with hard guitar undertones and digresses into the raw of music with "Garbage in the Garden". The lead singer always holds her own against the full scenery created by the music, and her voice melts in and out of your brain with soothing crystal clear lyrics you can always understand and never forget. This is an album for the individual not afraid to experience more than just the same plain old thing and I highly recommend it!

I knew Stereo Deluxx toured with Skillet a few years back, so when I found this CD in the bargain bin I thought I'd give it a shot. It must be rock, right, since they toured with Skillet? Nope. As someone put it earlier, pure CHR. I personally don't care for the pop genre, so I didn't like this album too well. Granted, for a pop record this isn't too bad, but if you're into rock and agressive stuff, don't buy this. I don't care if they toured with Skillet. They're still a pop group.

I saw this band at a coffee shop in downtown Iowa. They were just getting started, and they were a little confused... they thought they were in Idaho. Anyway, they were completely awesome... I was about 5 ft. max away from Stacey, and she was great! My best friend and I met the band after their performance. They signed autographs on the lyric book of the cd I purchased. They were really kuhl! It's too bad they didn't get bigger than they got. They rocked! Atleast they made it to Wordstock that year!!!

Stereo Deluxx is an GREAT band. The lead singer is from my home Church, and she has a sweet voice. I recomend this album to anyone who likes pop music. Their live stage presents is one that keeps your attention. Hope you enjoy my little sisters band.

Rock On,

I'd never heard of Stereo Deluxx before hearing them at Atlanta Fest 2000, but they are AMAZING. The lead singer has a voice similar to Gwen of No Doubt but with a twist, making the vocals as unique as all of the other instrumentation. The band is great in concert, each with really fun personalities, and fantabulous on CD. You'll love them!

Rock? ...no. R&B ...no? Disco? ...no. CHR? ...yes, if that's where the money is. Ridiculous? ...most definitely.None of these songs fall into a specific genre. It's as if this band wrote with different artists - trying to cover all the categorical bases. The lyrical content lacks integrity. The vocalist is UN-original and a little creepy [if you've ever caught them live]. The live show I saw was almost certainly choreographed. [Note: I think the drummer wore girls' clothes.] This album sounds as if it were based on "good intentions", nevertheless the end result was a suffocated effort that conforms nicely to the industry of CCM. There are select positives: The album is well produced. The ideas [beneath the pretense] are good. The keyboardist is cool live. Final note: This album hasn't the slightest nuance of Radiohead. |
