The front cover of this book honors the sweet innocence of a child. The back cover depicts my husband and I. Everything that is written between these covers is of God. As I wrote each word, I felt my God draw near to me. I thought I was close to God until I wrote this book. It was only then that I came to realize that God is so close to me.
I could not write one word without my Lord and Savior. God has allowed me to write about people in a deep and tender way. Sometimes there is suffering, but when you stay close to Him all things become bearable. I look forward to the moment when He tells me what to write and who to write about. It is my prayer that you will find yourself in this book, and it is my joy if you find yourself in a poem, a poem that would bring you close to God.
I am Kathleen Higham. I am a retired nurse from Youngstown, Ohio. Currently I am enjoying the winter in South Florida. I have been writing poetry for five years and just published my second book. My first book, "So Close to God," was a total shock, as I have no education in writing. My work has been in the medical field for over forty years. Imagine my joy when God decided that He wanted me to write. I have just published, "The Window to God," and it is such a tenderhearted book about people and love. I have surrendered completely to my Savior, Jesus Christ, who goes before every word I write. Let me thank Him now for asking me to step out of my comfort zone. You see dear friends, I am dyslexic, have visual problems, and my fingers never graced the key board of a computer until 2005. I was blessed to have a very patient Christian teacher to show me the basics of microsoft word so I could write. I have written well over 600 pieces to date. This is an absolute miracle. It is a miracle that I am on this site because of my incredibly pathetic computer skills. It is my prayer that you would find the God of all creation in my books.I would love to talk with you. In Christ,
Kathleen Higham
