I enjoyed the movie, and the music is a large part of that enjoyment for me.

This is a beautiful song, almost orcehstral, and can be interpreted in both a positive or more bittersweet way, depending on your mood.

Jon has a wonderful, soulful voice, and he sings this song with such emotion.

I was unfamiliar with Jon McLaughlin, the singer of this song, before seeing the movie. Actually, even after seeing it. I finally looked him up and was pleased to be able to buy this as a single. This is a beautiful song, almost orcehstral, and can be interpreted in both a positive or more bittersweet way, depending on your mood. I will be checking out more of the artist's music.

Gorgeous song--so heartbreaking! Beautifully sung by Jon McLaughlin. I recently re-watched Enchanted and cannot believe I did not notice this incredible song during the first viewing. I just love this song--it conveys such sweet sadness. Jon has a wonderful, soulful voice, and he sings this song with such emotion. This is now one of my favorite songs.

After watching the movie Enchanted, I HAD to have this song. While I love the movie for it's cute and, sometimes, hilarious inter-play, this song just gave it that deep deep emotional mark it had been missing and perfectly expressed the moment. Like many songs used by Disney, it is completely enjoyable outside the movie and is a magnificent song on it's own, even apart from the movie story-line.

I enjoyed the movie, and the music is a large part of that enjoyment for me. A sweet, touching moment in the story is related here in a lovely way.

A very romantic song with a twist of irony. The movie was great and this song fits so well into that movie.

Romance in its purest form is sustained within a 'perfect' crescendo in the ultimate "pre-wedding" love song "So Close" from the superb musical film "Enchanted"; as sung with impassioned, powerful vocals by John Mclaughlin; composed by Alan Menken; lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Our vocalist sings directly as if to honor every woman in the audience. It expresses how he feels, and his strong emotions become one with the song. It inspires us within love's swirl. Yes, delicate romantic stages can be created in heavenly music, even in a single song - sung with beauty and grace by a solo artist; even if Romance can be sustained within a subtle mist - that can only be captured in pure love - it is within our reach. In the 'waltz' scene, the heart of a woman is treated with the utmost care. Her feelings are protected. Etiquette and genteel manners are present to uphold refined, 'perhaps somewhat antiquated' romantic traditions.

Within the context of this song, our gentleman character Robert Philip (played by the handsome Patrick Dempsey) waits patiently for his Lady Giselle (played by the lovely Amy Adams) to place her hand upon his arm, then advance to the ballroom floor for the King & Queen costume ball and waltz. We hold our breath and enjoy the moments as if nothing else mattered during that short time frame. Then if we want - we can replay "So Close" until the meaning of it is secured within our poetic memory. A rare 'listening' experience to be enjoyed by all ages.

"You're in my arms
And all the world is calm
The music playing on for only two
So close together
And when I'm with you
So close to feeling alive

A life goes by
Romantic dreams must die
So I bid mine goodbye and never knew
So close was waiting, waiting here with you
And now forever I know
All that I want is to hold you
So close"
