enchanting voices, learn new insights to irish people,
By A Customer
This review is from: So Early in the Morning: Irish Children Songs (Cover Artwork May Vary) (Audio CD)
This CD is really helpful if you would like to learn new songs for children, the voices are full of laughter and fun ( even when singing about war or the devil) If you collect children's music, or children, this is a must for your collection. With 46 traditional songs on the recording you can't miss.

A real Irish experience for your child,

This review is from: So Early in the Morning: Irish Children Songs (Audio Cassette)
What can I say? This was pretty much the only album in our irish-american household in the late 50s/early 60s - before we discovered rock and roll. We would march around to the songs while our Irish grandparents clapped along with us. How wonderful to know and love the same songs they grew up with in the 1800s. Many Irish-Americans hear nutty bar-room songs and think they know the culture. But as the previous poster noted, you will know it so much more through the laughter and love of the Clancy family as they sing these simple, but captivating songs. Some are even in gaelic.
The children in our family continue to be drawn to these ditties, and I have sung them to youths of all cultures who are equally mesmerized. Particularly, Soldier Soldier, Paper of Pins, and Rattlin' Bog never fail to entertain. It is such a treasure to have this available on CD.
