Biography

Bethany Dillon’s 2004 Sparrow Records debut stood out, because at only 14, she was a serious writer and artist creating her own material, mature beyond her years, with an authenticity of expression and an ability to own the emotion in her music. Audiences connected with her first record almost immediately, and the results included several hit singles, multiple Dove nods, critical ... Read more in Amazon's Bethany Dillon Store

Bethany Dillon and Acoustics? Two of my favorite things! This is by far my favorite of her work. It's raw, pure, and filled with every bit of Bethany's heart and soul. Her acoustic version of "Hallelujah" has always been a reference for me during difficult times. She doesn't try to mimic main-stream music and always has thoughtful, meaningful lyrics that bring us in connection to our Heavenly Father.

I was greatly disappointed that I bought this Cd. Having the songs played in a somewhat different version, didn't do the songs any justice.
Bethany's original versions to these songs were much better the way they were. She sang the songs with much more conviction and emotion like in "Awaking", and "Imaginations" than she did in this Cd. Bethany has a beautiful voice and the acoustic guitar music is wonderful, but someone should have steered her to stick with her original versions and select a better addtional song or two on this Cd than what was chosen. After having listened to the Cd, it didn't leave me inspired or lifted up.
I was hoping for some brand new songs that she wrote or had someone write for her and was left disappointed. Hopefully, her next Cd will be pack a powerful punch. Also, I hope to see more promising music coming from this artist in the future.

I have always thought Bethany Dillon was given a rare gift -- the combination of a distinctive, powerful voice and well above average songwriting and acoustic guitar playing abilities. I have also always thought she was OVER-produced. Now, we have an opportunity to hear her at her best. The instrumentation is spare, but like a good spice, enhances the flavor of each vocal offering on this CD and makes this set an absolute auditory treat. The production is clean and clear and dynamically honest. I can only hope this project represents a future direction for this talented, gifted, and gracious artist. By the way, if they had included "For My Love" and "You Are On Our Side" (plus one more Beatles tune), I would have found a way to give this 7+ stars!

This album is full of excellent, heartfelt, and uplifting tracks giving glory to God. The acoustic settings highlight Dillon's sweet and tender vocals as she sings beautifully arranged songs.

I haven't been a huge fan of Bethany Dillon's but this album really impressed me. Many albums these days tend to be over produced and add so many musicians that it ends up creating a lot of noise. Though I enjoy the original versions of some of these songs the acoustic live in studio feel of this album really appeals to me and is a welcome change from what we are fed today. Some people who really like the production of her other albums may not like this but for those who are looking for something that feels more real, personal, and raw this is the album to get.
