5.0 out of 5 stars another excellent disc for my ben collection...
this is the kind of CD that makes me wish that singles in the US had such good bonus stuff! i bought this disc mainly for the live versions of 'when she believes' and 'she's only happy in the sun' and the solo acoustic version of 'amen omen'. ('so high so low' is the track from the 'diamonds on the inside' album, 'strawberry fields forever' is the track from the 'i am...

3.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing
I'm still wondering why Ben and Virgin are re-releasing so many tracks. Strawberry Fields has now been released on several different cds and singles. The Amen Omen has now been released on two or three different singles, and I'm clueless as to why anyone would be interested in a "radio edit" of Diamonds on the Inside.

this is the kind of CD that makes me wish that singles in the US had such good bonus stuff! i bought this disc mainly for the live versions of 'when she believes' and 'she's only happy in the sun' and the solo acoustic version of 'amen omen'. ('so high so low' is the track from the 'diamonds on the inside' album, 'strawberry fields forever' is the track from the 'i am sam' soundtrack', and the 'diamonds on the inside' radio edit is simply a shorter version of the album track)

that said, it was completely worth it for those three tracks alone! ben is an absolutely incredible live performer, and i think these tracks further prove that. he's an intense performer, and he just plays the hell out of all of his songs live. 'when she believes' is my favorite of these three, because it has a different vibe (mainly in the different instrumentation) from the album version, and you can just hear the energy in it. 'she's only happy in the sun' is essentially the same on this disc as on the studio album. 'amen omen' is quietly beautiful, as most of ben's songs tend to be when he performs them solo acoustic.

put this disc on, close your eyes, and imagine that you're at a live ben show. it's amazing.

That said, the two live tracks (which are essentially the only "new" material on the EP) are very nice. Is it worth $22 for two live recordings? If I were you, I'd just save your money and buy the new Hollywood Bowl DVD that comes out this month.
