Totally blows away any of these "popular" bands.., December 29, 2000
This review is from: & So the Night Became (Audio CD)
Though this isn't really "black" metal, it's got enough influence to be classified as that. No, it's more like "dark" metal, meaning it's a whole lot more evil than horrible little bands like Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth. ...And so the Night Became has some death qualities to it meaning it's pretty brutal at times, and peaceful and beautiful at other times. This is a long CD, about an hour long, yet it doesn't seem to drag at all. There's so much diversity on this album it's incredible. Standout songs are "There's no wine like the blood's Crimson", "Warrior of the Cresent Moon", and "...And so the Night Became". You definitely need to get this album, and may i also suggest "Shadows of Old" and the new "Ascension's of Terror".

...And so the Night became is a breath of fresh air. For the past 4 months I had been listening to nothing but Brutal Death and it was taking it's toll on my hearing and i was just getting sad in general over the music being the same everyday. That was until i found this. I opened it and looked through the booklet before actually listening. The Lyrics are like verses from mystical tales...great stuff, and the girl, whatever her name is,is pretty. ..Then i put off my lights and just lay down in bed and listen to this straight through 3 times! yeah! and this CD is over an hour long! That's how good it is. Track 3,Warrior of the Cresent Moon may very well be my favorite song ever. I plan on getting all the other albums from this band, Aeternus. Do yourself a favor and purchase this dark masterpiece before just getting another death metal CD.

This album is incredible. 75% electric 25% acoustic. The songwriting is outstanding. This is as good as it gets. A classic black metal album. The guitars on this album show many different kinds of emotion. They can be dark, sad, angry, happy, all in the same song. Don't let the fact that this album has some acoustic guitar turn you off. This is truly epic black metal. I don't even like black metal and I love this cd. It's too bad so many people haven't heard of this band because they're right up there with the greats like In Flames, Arch Enemy, At the Gates, and Children of Bodom.
