Good album, worth the price,

In my opinion, very few of DR's songs are unlikeable. This album is different from most Ruffin albums, one because it's not with Motown. After listening to it a few times it's actually pretty good. If anything just recognize his ability to make something out of nothing and also his ability to sing in different keys and styles. This is a must have for die hard fans.

I can remember the first time that I heard track 1 on this album, ironically so, it was on my favorite rapper's fist solo effort. The certain rapper being none other than "Playa Fly". He didn't even sample the song. He just played the track over his spoken vocals, and I can remember thinking to myself, I love this song. That year being, 1995, I search high and low for this particular album. Needless to say, 16 years later I found it, and I couldn't be any more happier. I've been a David Ruffin fan for almost half of my 35 years on earth, I own or have owned what I thought was his entire catalouge. But as most artist today, artist from my parents generation recorded hundreds of songs, and picked and chose what they consider thier best work. David Ruffin's music is timeless! He gets recognition from thousands of fans for his brief, yet stellar stint with "The Temptations". But in my opinion, his best work was his solo efforts. One of the great American vocalists of all time.

THIS ALBUM IS VERY GOOD. THIS CAME OUT WHEN DAVID WAS TRANSITIONING FROM MOTOWN TO WARNER BROS. THE SOUND IS DIFFERENT, WHICH IS TO BE EXPECTED GIVEN HE WAS ON A DIFFERENT LABEL. BUT NONETHELESS, IT'S STILL PRETTY GOOD. MY FAVORITE TRACKS (I LIKE THE WHOLE CD) ARE "LET YOUR LOVE RAIN DOWN ON ME", "BREAK MY HEART"(DAVID GAVE IT HIS ALL ON THIS SONG. I LOVE HOW HE HITS THAT HIGH NOTE. HE REMINDS ME OF A BIRD TAKING FLIGHT. HE SOARS ON THIS ONE), AND "MORNING SUN LOOKS BLUE". DAVID WAS EXTREMELY TALENTED AND NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE COULD MATCH HIS GRIT AND INTENSITY. R.I.P. MR. GREAT DAVID RUFFIN!!
