I picked this book from the shelves at the bookstore because I thought it was a funny title and book cover. I expected the standard quick skim through and move on. Instead, I found a hilarious set of stories about the application of the law in lots of cases you may just find yourself in, and at the very least, are pretty entertaining. Far from legal jargon, the tone was funny and I thought the whole thing was pretty witty. I ended up taking it home and reading it that evening. I can't believe I am recommending a book about the law but I tore through it and smiled throughout.

So Sue Me, JACKASS! by Amy Epstein Feldman and Robin Epstein is a book that will answer all the legal questions you've been afraid to ask - no matter how outlandish they may be - and it does it in a practical, easy to understand and humorous way.

Amy is a nationally syndicated legal columnist and general counsel for The Judge Group, Inc., an international business solutions provider. She's been asked every question you can imagine and then some. Friends, relatives and employees go to her for a multitude of reasons, not the least being she doesn't charge them $200 per hour for a consultation. Her sister Robin is an author, stand-up comic and former sitcom writer. She convinced Amy she should write a book - that it would be incredibly useful for people who don't have a relative who's a lawyer. Robin is a television writer but she shares a love of the law with her sister. Together they wrote So Sue Me, JACKASS!

The book is divided into topics and written in a question and answer format that is easy-to-use and fun to read. The sisters offer sanity-saving legal advice that entertains while giving you peace of mind. I was hooked as soon as I started reading Chapter 1: Your Job - Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off to Sell Your Soul to the Devil You Go! Amy answers such questions as - Is it illegal to make people work on National holidays? The short answer is NO. Or how about: Do you have any rights when it comes to a smelly coworker? Well, it depends where you work. The sisters offer some practical advice in case your town doesn't have an official policy for stinky employees. Boy, I could have used some of this advice in my previous life as a municipal drone. But even if the questions don't pertain to your life they're still informative and entertaining.

Anything involving the law typically makes my eyes glaze over. But as this book makes all too clear, we live in a world where we're constantly a step away from getting embroiled in legal doo-doo whether we like it or not. Questions like: "Can my ex legally post nude pictures of me on the internet?" and "Can my boss fire me for putting on weight?" are best considered before they happen. I wound up reading the book in two days -- each of the many briefly related topics is both potentially useful and very engagingly written.

There are some questions I just don't trust to Google, and anything to do with the law falls in that category. That's why I checked out this book, but as a bonus it's way funnier than anything I've ever read as a result of a Google search (except those accidentally hilarious search results). I immediately found the answer I was looking for but then ended up browsing the rest of the book, too. I can't wait to show off my newfound trivia at a cocktail party soon...

What a pleasure to have so many questions about the law as it applies in everyday life answered so succinctly and with such good humor...

The Epstein sisters are to be commended for the superb job they've done making complex ideas accessible and easy to grasp.

Bottom line - a very enjoyable read that leaves one with much to think about.
