From School Library Journal

Grade 6-9–In this sequel to So Super Starry (Dial, 2004), Octavia Clairbrook-Cleeve has transferred from Darlinham House, where everyone was the son or daughter of somebody famous, to a local school, Jethro Park, where shes being very low-key to try and fit in. Shes adjusting well until her family becomes the target of the paparazzi due to her TV-star mothers romance with married marketing exec Bud Carnaby. Or rather, the soon-to-be-ex-Mrs. Carnabys very public fuss about the romance. To present a united front, Bud and his son, a neo-goth with the melancholy of the ages, have moved in with the Clairbrook-Cleeves. Meanwhile, Octavia is still trying to live the life of a normal teenager: friends, boys, exams, and homework. It all seems manageable until India Withers, her nemesis from Darlinham House, begins attending Jethro Park as research for her part in an upcoming movie. Though the usual high school worries and joys are magnified in this tale of a celebritys daughter, the trappings of glitz and glamour dont outshine the core story of a teen dealing with typical concerns. A divorced mothers romance, a bully, and the insecurities of a crush are plotlines that girls will sympathize with and recognize. A good choice for libraries with starstruck teens or fans of Meg Cabots Princess Diaries and Teen Idol (2005, both HarperCollins).–Heather E. Miller, Homewood Public Library, AL

From Booklist

Gr. 7-11. Londoner Octavia Clairbrook-Cleve returns in this sequel to So Super Starry (2004). The privileged only child of a director and actress, Octavia has abandoned her posh private school in favor of regular folk at Jethro Park, the local school. Then who should appear but her arch enemy, gorgeous actress India Withers, who has chosen to attend Jethro Park to help her prepare for an upcoming film. Pedictable and frothy, yes, but also highly entertaining. Give this to fans of the PrincessDiaries series. Debbie Carton

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, but i was comparing...., July 26, 2006
This review is from: So Super Stylish (Hardcover)
I guess if you havent read Meg Cabot or Sophie Kinsella, Rose Wilkins comes across as an inteligent writer with original plotlines and funny jokes. I, however, have read books like this before. So when i started reading So Super Stylish, i was unimpressed. The characters arent very strong and it wasnt an unputdownable book. But it looks like Rose Wilkins had a surge of creativity towards the middle of the book, because the latter half of the book is much better, and it starts to get even more interesting towards the end.

Overall, this is a good read for youngsters and quite enjoyable, but if i had to recommend another book instead of this, i'd reccomend a Meg Cabot book. Because really, you cant go wrong with Meg.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun, quick read for the summer, March 20, 2006
This review is from: So Super Stylish (Hardcover)
Octavia Clairbrook-Cleeve, daughter of a famous actress and director, has no wish to be in the spotlight. After leaving her glitzy school behind, she enters the local high school. For a while, she believes that she has gotten away from her former life. Unfortunately, she is mistaken. Bud, her mother's boyfriend, decides to pack up and move to live with them, bringing his son, Milton, along. While that causes some excitement, nothing can compare to the fact that India Withers, Octavia's nemesis, comes to her school claiming that she's doing research for her next acting gig. And India is in to cause as much harm as possible to Octavia's somewhat calmer life.

I really liked reading So Super Stylish. I wish that I had started with it's prequel, So Super Starry, first. It was interesting to read about the life of someone famous. While this reminded me of the Introducing Vivian Leigh Reid and the A-List, So Super Stylish is original in it's own way. The story kept me interested as soon as I read the first page. I would recommend this book as a fun, quick read for the summer.
