This review is from: So Weit (Audio CD)
When the Berlin wall finally came tumbling down in -89 the tune that everybody sang was Marius Muller Westernhagen's "Freiheit". This collection of his greatest has this classic, but sorry to say, the compilation is a little strange. I can think of at least 10 omissions, that should have been included. If you've never heard of this guy, I suggest you try "Affentheater" or "Radio Maria" first (both went to #1 in Germany). He's the Springsteen of Germany, although is lyrics are more aware, they lack the Arbeitsklasse-kitsch that makes many of Bruc's songs a tad annoying.
