This review is from: So You Can't Stand Evangelism?: A Thinking Person's Guide to Church Growth (Paperback)
I really like Jim Adams' definition of evangelism as the process by which church members let outsiders in on what they've found of value in Christianity and church life. I've used this book for two years as a guidebook for my church's membership committee in our effort to build a more inclusive, welcoming community and bought many copies to give away. (Thank you Amazon Marketplace!) His experience in turning around his Washington, DC, church makes this more than just a theoretical guide. It covers all the bases from biblical underpinnings to the challenges of parish dynamics with practical ideas.
It would make a great text for an adult spirituality group, too!
