About the Author

A retired marketing executive, a real estate agent, and a former English teacher, Gerald Granozio lives in East Hampton, New York with his partner Kevin. He received a bachelor of science in English Humanities from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York, and he has two children, Christopher and Jennifer.

Gerald has written movie reviews and features for several New York publications as well as plays for off-Broadway. He has also appeared in community theatre in upstate New York.

When asked what prompted him to write this book, he replied, ''I have always been an avid movie fan. I am a big Oscar devotee and have won many annual Oscar contests. Each year, for fun, my kids and I see all the nominated movies, hold our private Oscar contest and vie for our own 'family' award.''

A popular volunteer at the East Hampton Senior Citizen Center and a tarot card reader, Gerald enjoys movies, theater, and crossword puzzles, as well as writing.

I saw a recommendation for this book in Cindy Adams NY Post column and decided to pick it up. I know a lot about the Academy Awards and found this book challenging and fun. There are a variety of puzzles, quizzes, games, wordscrambles etc. Some are easy but some are really difficult!
If you like movie trivia and interacting with puzzles, this book is right up your alley.

Witty, charming and fun! Test your Oscar knowledge with this entertaining book of quizzes, puzzles and more. As a patron of the arts, and someone who loves Oscar night in all its glory, I found this book full of interesting facts, and the content in which it is displayed really challenged me. I thought I knew quite a bit about Hollywood's famous night, but found that I really hadn't even scratched the surface.
Alone or with friends, if you are someone who enjoys a challenge, enjoys testing your knowledge, and enjoys the bright lights of Hollywood, then this book is for you!

The puzzles range from "common knowledge" to a bit obscure. The Answer Key has its share of typos and a few answers are missing - which can be frustrating if you don't know the answer (like me in one of the Gone With The Wind puzzles). At times I felt like I was reading a club newsletter type of puzzle. Not great but not a waste of time if you like this sort of harmless fun.
